Do you find yourself in conversations that do not seem to be going anywhere or moving people forward? Then, here are three intentionally disruptive questions that you can ask:
1. What would you suggest?
When someone comes to you complaining about a situation, stop and ask them: "What would you suggest?"
2. What would it take for you to agree?
When you are in a meeting with a conversation that is going on, stop and say: "Hey, there is a lot of conversation going on here, but what would it take for us to get agreement here?" When you ask this a number of times, it will move everyone's focus to finding a solution.
3. Can you live with it?
When you or the person you are talking to is caught up in a situation that is often very small, stop wasting your time and theirs and simply ask: "Can you live with it?" If the answer is no, then go back to question one: "What would you suggest?"
When you stop and ask these three questions:
1. What would you suggest?
2. What would it take for you to agree?
3. Can you live with it?
It always leads to breakthroughs.
Why not give these a go in your conversations and let me know how you went?
You can also take this to another level and use these questions in your time with God!
You know it is ok to ask God questions! He is not scared by them! Jesus used questions very effectively when he was on Earth.
So in your time with God when praying about a situation, instead of telling God about all that is going on, ask about him about it.
God you know the situation that is happening, what do you suggest that I do in this situation? God, what is your solution for this?
God how do I come in agreement with you about what you want to happen? This is what I want to happen, but your thoughts are not my thoughts, your ways are not my ways, you see this from a different point of view, show me what I need to do to come into alignment with you on this.
And finally, God is this something that you actually want to happen and can live with? If not, what is your solution? What is your answer to this? How can I join you in seeing that accomplished?
Can you see how that changes your prayer time? It turns it from God this is what you need to do type praying to God, here I am to work with you on what you seek to accomplish in this situation.
His plans are so way much better than ours!
