A Special Sunday at Taringa Baptist Church! 🙏

Today we celebrated the commissioning of Pastor Roger Harris as our new Lead Pastor. It was a wonderful time of prayer, thanksgiving and looking ahead to what God has in store for our church.

We also enjoyed a pot luck lunch together afterwards — great food, great fellowship and a great way to celebrate this new chapter!

Please keep Pastor Roger and Taringa Baptist Church in your prayers as we follow where God leads. 💙

What a Sunday!

A huge thank you to Ben Dainton from Queensland Baptists for joining us this Sunday and sharing such a powerful and encouraging message on trusting God. We were reminded that even when we can’t see what God is doing, we can still trust the One who is in control.

A special thank you also goes to our amazing youth who stepped up and took part in so many ways throughout the service — hosting, praying, serving, participating and helping lead our church family in worship.

We are so proud of our young people and grateful for the way they are growing in faith, confidence and their willingness to serve Jesus.

And, of course, a youth service wouldn’t be complete without pizza and drink floats! 🍕🥤🍦

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our youth. What a great reminder that the church is not just preparing the next generation — our young people are part of the church today!

Wholehearted – Don't Hold Back (New series starts this Sunday)

What does it look like to follow God with your whole heart?

This Sunday we're launching a brand-new series through the life of King David. From shepherd to king, giant-slayer to worshipper, David's life was filled with incredible victories, painful failures, and unwavering faith.

After David's death, God looked back over his life and described him as a man who followed Him "with all his heart." Not because David was perfect—but because he kept turning back to God and refused to hold anything back.

Jesus calls us to the same kind of commitment: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (Mark 12:30)

Over the coming weeks we'll follow the growth of David's faith and be challenged to ask ourselves one simple question: Am I living wholeheartedly for God, or am I holding something back?

We’re so grateful for our guest preacher, Thong Ng, who shared an inspiring message, and to everyone who took part in the service. Thank you also to all who brought along delicious dishes from around the world — the food was incredible and enjoyed by all! 🍛🥗🍰

Exciting News! 🎉

I’m thankful to share that I’ve recently completed my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) training! 🙌

It’s been a great journey of learning and growing so I can better support our wonderful ESL ministry here at church. I’m so grateful for Sophia and the amazing team who faithfully serve every Thursday and Saturday (9:30am–12:30pm during school terms).

Each week they create a warm, welcoming space where people not only learn English but also find friendship, laughter, and community. 💛

Please join me in celebrating this dedicated team and praying for this incredible ministry that continues to bless so many! 🙏
