This Sunday, 13 September, Brisbane will host the 30th anniversary Bridge to Brisbane, with police-controlled road closures and significant changes to traffic across Brisbane.

However, if you are attending Mass at the Cathedral of St Stephen, St Patrickโs Fortitude Valley or Holy Spirit New Farm, please plan your journey carefully and allow extra time to get to church.

Road closures will begin from as early as 2:00am, with further closures from approximately 3:00am - 3:30am. Roads will progressively reopen as the event passes, with all roads scheduled to reopen by 12:30pm.
Access to premises within affected areas will be permitted under the direction of Queensland Police and traffic controllers, but significant delays may occur.

If you are travelling to the Cathedral, please be aware that approaches to the CBD may be affected by the wider road closures, particularly for those travelling from the north, east and inner-northern suburbs.
The Bridge to Brisbane closure zone includes key roads connecting into the CBD and Fortitude Valley, so your usual route may not be available or may take considerably longer.
Access to the Cathedral precinct will be managed by police and traffic controllers where required. Please follow their directions and allow plenty of extra time to reach the Cathedral.

St Patrickโs is likely to be the most directly affected of our three parish communities due to the number of roads around Fortitude Valley and Bowen Hills included in the event closure area.
Roads affected include sections of:

โข Hamilton Place
โข Brookes Street
โข O'Connell Street
โข Tufton Street
โข Lanham Street
โข Sneyd Street
These roads are scheduled to close progressively from approximately 3:00am - 3:30am and reopen progressively, with the affected routes scheduled to reopen by 12:30pm.
If St Patrickโs is your destination, please check your route before leaving home and allow additional time for diversions and traffic delays.

For parishioners travelling to Holy Spirit, the event is likely to affect routes into New Farm from the north and inner city, particularly if your journey connects with the Fortitude Valley/Bowen Hills road network.
Road closures include major northern approaches such as Kingsford Smith Drive, Breakfast Creek Road and the Inner City Bypass, which may affect your usual journey depending on where you are travelling from.
Please check your route before leaving and allow extra time.
