Today’s Scripture
"They turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel."
(Psalm 78:41, KJV)

No More Limits
God is a God of increase. He wants to take you to new levels and higher heights. But sometimes, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut and just settle for status quo. Sometimes we think, “Well, I’ve reached my limits. I’ve gone as far as I can go. This is as happy as I’ll ever be.” But if we’re going to continue to increase and really experience God’s best, we have to align our thinking with God’s thinking.

It’s interesting that in this scripture, the people limited the Holy One of Israel. Think about that. You and I can actually limit the all-powerful Creator of the universe. How? By our thinking. What we believe either opens the door for God to move or it closes the door. God is limited in our lives by what we believe. So many people don’t even realize that it’s their own wrong thinking that keeps them in mediocrity.

Today, why don’t you take the limits off by choosing to believe God?! Feed your faith by studying His Word. Keep an open heart and mind before Him. Allow Him to work in your life and watch Him open up doors of blessing that you’ve never seen before!

A Prayer for Today
"Father God, today I choose to believe You. I take the limits off by trusting that You have good plans for my future. I invite You to search my heart and remove anything that isn’t pleasing to You. I bless You today and always in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Today’s Scripture
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
(Joshua 1:9, NKJV)

Dream Boldly
When you look out into your future, what do you see? What are the dreams and desires that you hold close to your heart?

So many people start with bold dreams, but then opposition comes. Life doesn’t turn out the way they planned. They lose a loved one or encounter difficulty they didn’t anticipate. Today, if that’s you, I want to remind you that the Creator of the universe designed you with specific gifts and talents that no one else has. He has you on this planet for a specific purpose. When you commit your life to Him, He promises to be with you wherever you go. Even though some things in life may have caught you by surprise, they didn’t catch God by surprise. His good plan for your life remains. You can trust Him because He loves you with an everlasting love, and He doesn’t want to see you settling for anything less than His very best.

I want to encourage you to be bold, be strong and be courageous. Put aside the past and lift up your eyes to Jesus. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. Live boldly and dream boldly so you can embrace the good things He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today
"Father, today I come boldly to You. I open my heart and mind to Your Word. Fill me with Your strength today; fill me with Your hope, and keep me close to You always as I put You first in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Today's Scripture:

MAN.

Genesis 39:1-3.

We all need to understand that Prosperity is a spiritual experience; also a spiritual force. If Joseph could be bought, it means that he was poor, that is, he was without visible cash. Yet the Bible describes him as prosperous. What this means is that it is possible to be a Banker or a Doctor and yet not prosperous.

When a man carries the spirit of prosperity, he creates his atmosphere and environment to succeed. He is no more a victim or a subject of the economic environment in which he is functioning. There is a spirit of prosperity, and God is that Spirit. Gen. 39:2a And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; meaning that it was WHO was with Joseph that determined what he was manifesting.

Prosperity is not what you are driving; it is what is driving you. Prosperity is not the food that you are eating; it is what is in you by God. Prosperity is not a matter of brain; it is a matter of an invisible force. If someone else did what Joseph was doing that was turning out well, those things would start to break down, but when Joseph is brought back on the scene, the success would kick-start again. There is a force and power that makes nonsense of human ability or disability, and you carry that power in you as a child of God.

:
Declare this today, “From today, whatever I lay my hands upon shall prosper!” In Jesus Name!!

's Scripture

"He answered, 'The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man'."
(Matthew 13:37, AMP)

What is Taking Root?
God is constantly trying to plant new seeds of victory on the inside of you. He's trying to increase you. He's trying to enlarge your vision. He wants to take you to new levels of victory. But before you see a harvest, the seed has to take root. You have to conceive it before you are going to receive it. In other words, before you're ever going to be successful, you've got to see yourself successful. Before you're ever going to have your dreams come to pass, you've got to look out through your eyes of faith and see them coming to pass. That's how you allow the seed to take root.

Today, I encourage you to examine your thought life. What are you allowing to take root? Are God's seeds of victory and life growing in your heart and mind, or are you nurturing seeds of defeat and despair? The good news is that you can change your thoughts right now, this very moment. Begin to dwell on God's promises and His goodness. Let His good seeds take root in your mind and heart. It won't be long before you'll see that harvest of blessing come forth in every area of your life!

Prayer for Today
Father God, today I surrender every area of mind, will and emotions to You. I choose to dwell on Your goodness and faithfulness so that the good seeds You've planted in my life will take root. Keep me close to You and direct my steps down the good path You have prepared for me in Jesus' name.

Today’s Scripture
"The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit…"
(Proverbs 27:18, NIV )

If Only
It’s easy to get stuck in the trap of thinking that if only your circumstances would just change, then life would be better. You might think, “If I got a new job, or a new house or had better friends, then I would really be happy.” But I’ve learned that oftentimes, God changes us before He changes our circumstances. We are thinking, “If only my circumstances would change,” when God may be thinking, “If only your attitude would change!”

Today, if you’ve been thinking, “If only,” it’s time to turn your thoughts around. Don’t allow negative thinking to direct your attitude or affect how you treat others. Instead, begin to thank God for what He has planned for you. Bloom where you are planted. Tend to what God has placed in your hand. If you will focus on what you have instead of focusing on what you don’t have, then God can bless you, multiply you and lead you forward into the destiny He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today
"Father in heaven, thank You for Your goodness and grace upon my life. Today I choose to turn my thoughts around and focus on what You have placed in my hands. I will be faithful, knowing that You are faithful, and that You have a good plan in store for me in Jesus’ name! Amen."

5 Reasons Men Don’t Pray at Home

Can you honestly say that you pray regularly with your wife? If asked, what would your kids say? Do they see you depending upon and trusting God by “asking, seeking and knocking” (Matthew 7:7)? It has been my experience that Christian men have a hard time comfortably and confidently praying with their wives and kids.

I’ve been married for 42 years. I would say it has only been in the last 10 years that I’ve made intentional strides to compensate for this flaw, and I’m a pastor for goodness sakes!

Why do men struggle to pray at home? I believe there are five reasons:

First of all, it’s a spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:12). If there is no prayer at home, then there will be no power at home, and Satan wins.
Prayer is unproductive to an “outcome-driven” man, who considers it a waste of time.
We still wrestle with our own weaknesses and wounds, and that immobilizes us with guilt and shame (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We convince ourselves that we’re not good at it, so we avoid the potential failure.
We’ve underestimated our influential role at home to model humility and desperation after God (Psalm 63:1).
You may have additional reasons for not praying, but I would plead with you to embrace God’s enabling grace to set you free from these lies and take one simple step to reinstate prayer in your home.

Making Opportunities For the Purpose of Praying
What if your wife shared her troubled heart with you, and after listening, you held her hand and, with no formal announcement, asked Jesus for His help and comfort (Hebrews 13:6).
Your 11-year-old daughter comes home distraught because of the rejection of a so-called friend, and you, without announcement and with eyes wide open, say, “Lord, comfort my daughter and be there for her. Provide her with friends who will build her up—not tear her down (Philippians 4:19).
At the dinner table, your 8-year-old son tells the family that he was bullied at recess, and you immediately say to your family, “Let’s grab hands, pray, and ask God for wisdom” (James 1:5).

Your first step in turning your home into a house of prayer is spontaneous prayers. These are prayers for the moment. Prayers that “seek God first” before anxiety ensues. These spontaneous prayers are short (10 seconds), they are unannounced (just pray out loud), and they involve touch (hold a hand, shoulder, or even pray as you hug).

With the fast-paced world we live in, take advantage of your family’s “life needs,” and pray at the moment. These continuous short prayers can model the genuine and personable God we serve. I have found it has brought confidence, courage and consistency to my spiritual leadership. Rest assured, your wife will not complain that you have reclaimed your spiritual authority by praying at home.

It’s a good first step!
