Great to see a full house last night for the opening of the SALA Festival exhibition at Bridgewater Arts Centre - Adelaide Hills

Thanks to Nathan Daniell - Mayor of Adelaide Hills Council for opening the event and to all artists and the organising team for putting this exhibition together.

17 artists sharing their interpretation of the theme "Light and Wonder"

This week we farewelled a much loved member of our congregation - Richard Beare.

We heard many stories of Richard’s antics, as well as his kindness, generosity and compassion.

Richard was many things to many people …

The naughty school boy
The netball coach
The life of the party
The caring colleague
The fun and faithful friend
The dedicated dad
The prankster
The w**e maker
The adventurer
The loving husband …

It seems - no matter how you knew Richard - he made an impact!

Richard showed us how to “live a life with no regrets” and left us with the pearl of wisdom that … “Rules are only guidelines.”

Richard lived life to the full and it is clear no Facebook post will do him justice … but we will remember an all round good guy and we will smile because our lives have been better, funnier and richer for having you in them.

We will miss you.

This week we celebrated the life of Jean Mur. Jean's funeral was led by Rev Richard Miller who was Minister at Bridgewater Uniting about 20 years ago. Among the tributes to Jean's wonderful contributions to our congregation and the wider church through packing days and generous voluntary service .... was Rev Miller's memory of first visiting Jean's home and meeting the somewhat scary looking and sounding "Kaiser"

It got me searching back to find this photo of Jean and her beloved dog at our "Blessing of the Pets" service held at the Bridgewater Lyon's Park ... funnily enough ... we only ever did it once!

Bless you Jean! Thank you for all you did to support our church community.

Rest in Peace.

A range of hands-on activities for preschool and primary age children are available these school holidays. From 14 - 17 July, Bridgewater Arts Centre and The Village Well, Aldgate will host a series of creative and fun activities to delight and inspire children, led by experienced artist teachers.

This Week (July 5-12) is NAIDOC Week. It marks 50 years of honouring the voices, cultures and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A range of hands-on activities will be available for preschool and primary age children these school holidays. From 14 - 17 July, Bridgewater Arts Centre and The Village Well, Aldgate will host a range of creative and fun activities to delight and inspire children, led by experienced artist teachers. Activities include making Cardboard Automata Puppets, Cupcake Decorating, Henna Painting, Mandalas Ink Painting, and Hip Hop Dancing!

Thanks to everyone who supported our High Tea raising funds for the Cancer Council!! We raised an amazing $2705 - so thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, took part in the raffle or silent auction, donated prizes, baked goodies or volunteered their time.
