Monday nights are feast nights!
The Bridgewater Community Feast is a community-led initiative bringing community together and building local food security. Join us on Monday nights at the Oak Community Centre to share food, help cook or just have a healthy and fulfilling meal. Last night fresh pasta with backyard eggs was followed by brownies and all manner of delicacies. Help is always welcome and interested persons are invited to fill out this form 🔗

At Bridgewater UC we’re celebrating a Season of Creation. This week in worship we lamented the chaos that human beings are causing to our environment. Our Bible story from Exodus was dramatised on tabletop. We created a mural with an image of rising seas in the Pacific Ocean. We placed items of rubbish on a net in the ocean below. We learned about the threat to Pacific communities and lit candles in prayer. We were challenged to see the ocean as a place where God is present and to learn from the wisdom of our Pacific neighbours

From September 1 - October 4, our community will join in the global church for The Season of Creation - an invitation to rediscover our connection to God’s creation, and in so doing our connection to the Creator.

The 2026 theme is Living Water, inspired by Ezekiel 47:9 and 12. In Ezekiel’s vision, water flows from God’s sanctuary, restoring damaged places and bringing new life wherever it travels. The theme invites us to become a part of that life-giving river through prayer, reflection and action for creation.

To begin the season, Uniting Church President Rev Charissa Suli has this video message for us.

This Sunday we continue our once a month series on the Beatitudes and we also join together for the beginning of the Season of Creation. Come along to explore more about Jesus way of peacemaking and shalom for all of creation, share in Holy Communion and have the opportunity to participate in Uniting Climate Action Network's month of action! Great to see a full house last night for the opening of the SALA Festival exhibition at Bridgewater Arts Centre - Adelaide Hills

Thanks to Nathan Daniell - Mayor of Adelaide Hills Council for opening the event and to all artists and the organising team for putting this exhibition together.

This week we farewelled a much loved member of our congregation - Richard Beare.

We heard many stories of Richard’s antics, as well as his kindness, generosity and compassion.

Richard was many things to many people …

The naughty school boy
The netball coach
The life of the party
The caring colleague
The fun and faithful friend
The dedicated dad
The prankster
The w**e maker
The adventurer
The loving husband …

It seems - no matter how you knew Richard - he made an impact!

Richard showed us how to “live a life with no regrets” and left us with the pearl of wisdom that … “Rules are only guidelines.”

Richard lived life to the full and it is clear no Facebook post will do him justice … but we will remember an all round good guy and we will smile because our lives have been better, funnier and richer for having you in them.

We will miss you.

This week we celebrated the life of Jean Mur. Jean's funeral was led by Rev Richard Miller who was Minister at Bridgewater Uniting about 20 years ago. Among the tributes to Jean's wonderful contributions to our congregation and the wider church through packing days and generous voluntary service .... was Rev Miller's memory of first visiting Jean's home and meeting the somewhat scary looking and sounding "Kaiser"

It got me searching back to find this photo of Jean and her beloved dog at our "Blessing of the Pets" service held at the Bridgewater Lyon's Park ... funnily enough ... we only ever did it once!

Bless you Jean! Thank you for all you did to support our church community.

A range of hands-on activities for preschool and primary age children are available these school holidays. From 14 - 17 July, Bridgewater Arts Centre and The Village Well, Aldgate will host a series of creative and fun activities to delight and inspire children, led by experienced artist teachers.
