30th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A
Our readings this Sunday remind us of God’s love and compassion. We are asked to live this out each day in our relations with him and with others. In the Gospel Jesus answers the question, ‘Which is the greatest commandment?’ The answer is, of course, to love God – with our whole being. Love of our neighbour is inextricable from this.
This week let us, with joy, strive to imitate Christ’s love for us in the smallest details of our motives and actions with regard to others

In the Gospel we see Jesus neatly avoiding the trap set for him by those who seek to discredit him. Pointing out Caesar’s image on a coin, he tells them: ‘Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’
In the week ahead, we pray for all those who are in positions of leadership around the world. We ask that God will steer and guide them to seek justice and fairness for all people.

This Sunday's gospel showns a foretaste of salvation and how God desires the inclusion of everyone. In the Gospel, the parable of the Wedding Banquet shows God’s eagerness to offer salvation to all, yet how easily all kinds of reasons can get in the way of our response.
This week, let’s pray that we feel ever more strongly the presence of Christ and, by doing all things through his strength, we might willingly share the troubles of others.

17th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A
In the Gospel, Jesus uses the image of the vineyard to illustrate how God’s radical message of love, professed by ancient prophets and by himself, has been ignored and rejected. Despite this, Jesus can confidently proclaim the truth: that what people have ignored will become the foundation of a new covenant of love.
May Christ Jesus, who forever guards our hearts and sustains us in his love, give us the courage and strength to lead lives centred on truth, justice, peace and compassion for all.

Jesus uses the familiar parable of the two sons to illustrate the difference between mere words and concrete action. He emphasises how status, power and religion mean nothing unless they are used in ways that serve others in God’s love.

This week, may we remain mindful of how we might respond to God’s call to live a full and meaningful life through service and kindness to others.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A
The Gospel illustrates that God’s ways are not our ways, and that God’s generosity is without bounds. Here, Jesus tells the parable of the vine workers: all will be paid the same amount, regardless of the number of hours they have spent in the field. This story helps us understand that in God’s eyes, those who turned to God later in life are worth just as much as those who have followed him from the beginning.
In our prayer this week, we may like to meditate further on God’s unconditional love and generosity for us all and remind ourselves that his ways are not our ways.

24th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A
Jesus teaches about forgiveness through the parable of a servant forgiven a large debt by a merciful king; the servant then refuses to forgive a much smaller debt. Jesus warns that people should not expect mercy from God if they do not show mercy to others. We are called always to forgive others wholeheartedly.
This week, we pray for one another and ask for the grace to forgive, welcoming the healing and reconciliation forgiveness brings. We remember too those who are unable to forgive, and all who are affected by war, violence and unrest throughout the world.

23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year a
This Sunday’s readings encourage us to listen to the Lord at all times, and to listen to our neighbour and to our communities too. This will sometimes ask for tough love in our relationships with each other.
In the Gospel, we perhaps see the young Church striving to keep the values of Jesus, putting the demands of mutual love above the necessity for structures. Jesus promises to be with us and is active in our decisions and in everything that we do.
‘Love does no wrong to a neighbour,’ St Paul says. We can remember these words as we celebrate this Season of Creation, and pray to work with others for the good of all.
