“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” — Proverbs 31:26

Today we celebrate the mothers, mother-figures, and women who lead with grace, strength, and faith. Your words build up, your love shapes hearts, and your wisdom lights the way. Today is your day, there aren't enough words to say thank you for all you do.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Girls’ Brigade Queensland 💛

Resurrection Sunday

He is risen!!! Look, the grave holds no body. Death could not hold him, Jesus has freed us so sin no longer holds us captive. God has made a way.

May this miracle of Easter bring you perfect peace and hope as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Let us remember what great love has been show to us today, that God would sacrifice his only son Jesus Christ to be crucified in place of our sins so that we may be washed clean and forgiven of our sins, have eternal life, and freedom from the fear of death if we accept Jesus's free gift into our lives.

We'd love to see you at our Easter Sunday services (Am+Pm), and you can catch up on today's Good Friday service by following the YouTube link below.

Let's take this weekend to pause, remember, connect, and celebrate the great victory we share because Jesus paid it all where we couldn't and rose victorious from that grave. Hallelujah!

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 each year. It recognises the achievements of women and raises awareness about gender equality and women’s rights worldwide.

The 2026 theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights generosity, collaboration, and investing in equality through education, mentorship, funding, and opportunity.

Colours symbolising the day are purple (justice and dignity), green (hope), and white (purity). Countries celebrate in different ways- some give flowers, while others hold events or public holidays.

After more than 115 years, we still ask:
As girls and women, how can we support, serve, grow, and promote equality? 🌸

✨🌍✨ Today is World Day of Prayer! ✨🌍✨

Did you know this day was first initiated by a group of ordinary Christian Women in the 19th century? With a vision for global Christian unity, they encouraged personal prayer and leadership in community prayer, believing it to be essential to the heart of mission work.

Rooted in caring for women and children in oppressive situations, despite resistance, over 170 countries now join this powerful movement.

“We have learned the great lesson to pray with rather than just for our sisters of other races and nation, thus enriching our experience and power to complete the tasks entrusted to us”.

The 2026 theme, from Nigeria, draws on Matthew 11:28–30:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

As many carry heavy burdens - shame, oppression, poverty, persecution, or despair - this day reminds us of God’s rest and the strength found in community. True rest is not just physical relief, but transformation through God’s grace and support. 🙏

As the world grows increasingly challenging and complex, we warmly invite you, whether privately or at a service, to join us in standing united through prayer, advocating for peace, justice, and support for those in need around the world.
