🎄 Christmas Day 🎄

Today we celebrate the heart of Christmas — God with us.
In the quiet of a manger, the hope of the world was born. Jesus came not with power or spectacle, but with humility, grace, and love — for us and for our salvation.

As we listen to this beautiful carol, may we pause and wonder again at the miracle of Christmas:
that the Light has come into the darkness,
that peace has been offered,
and that joy has been made possible because Christ is born.

✨ O come, let us adore Him. ✨

This one is for all the harmony lovers out there! We were really careful to make sure you can enjoy each voice part in the choruses. Try picking someone and ...

What a beautiful way to begin the day at Carols at Bindaree this morning. 🎶🎄

We shared familiar carols, Scripture and plenty of smiles — a gentle and joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus with residents and staff alike. There was warmth, laughter, and a real sense of community as voices joined together in song.

We’re so thankful for the opportunity to gather, to sing and to remember again the good news of Christmas: Christ is born.

What a joy it’s been to celebrate Christmas together across our communities. 🎄✨

Sunday night’s Miriam Vale Carols was a great evening — the rain held off, the community turned out, and we shared a lovely supper together. Our Christmas service at Lowmead was just as special, gathering around the table for a wonderful meal and time of fellowship.

We’re so thankful to see people from across our local communities joining us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

There’s more to come:
🎶 Carols at Bindaree — tomorrow at 10am
🎄 Christmas Eve Family Service — 5:30pm
✝️ Christmas Day Service — 8:30am

Everyone is warmly welcome.

This simple sign outside a home in Miriam Vale captures the heart of Christmas so clearly:

“The birth of the Christ — the only reason for the season.”

At Christmas we’re not just inspired by the eagerness of shepherds, the joy of angels, or the perseverance of the wise.
We are centred on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born for us — our hope, our peace, our salvation.

So this Advent, may it be true that:
• we run to Jesus like the shepherds
• rejoice like the angels
• seek Him faithfully like the wise
• trust God’s word like Mary and Joseph

And above all, may we know the peace that comes not from the season itself,
but from the Christ-child who came to save us.

🕯️ “Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

Yesterday Canon Janne invited us to reflect on Matthew 11:2–11, where even John the Baptist - faithful, courageous, and obedient - reached a moment of doubt and asked Jesus, “Are you the one who is to come?”

In this Advent season, we were reminded that we all have a song to sing, even when life feels uncertain. John’s questions didn’t disqualify him; instead, Jesus affirmed him and pointed to the works of God unfolding before his eyes.

So we lift our voices this Christmas - songs of hope, faith and trust in the One who is to come. 🎶✨

We also celebrated with Canon Janne as she marked 33 years of ordained ministry to the priesthood. What a faithful witness and blessing she continues to be here at Boyne River Anglican.

We’re so thankful to God — and to our generous church family — for the four Christmas hampers we were able to put together so quickly for families doing it tough this Christmas.

In this photo, Chappy Joey is receiving three of the hampers on behalf of three of those families. What a joy to bless our community in Jesus’ name.

Is this not the true Christmas spirit — sharing hope, kindness, and practical love with those who need it most? 🎄✨

Yesterday at church we reflected on Matthew 3:1–12 — John the Baptist’s powerful call: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Advent reminds us that repentance isn’t about fear, but about turning toward the One who has already carried the fire of judgement for us on the cross. Jesus is the Mighty One who baptises with the Holy Spirit and fire, renewing us from the inside out.

As we wait for His return, may our lives produce the kind of fruit that comes from hearts transformed by His grace.
This is a season of hope — because the Judge is also our Saviour. 🕯️✨
