What does it mean to be "Protestant"? Does it simply mean "not Roman Catholic," or does it mean something deeper? You're invited to an afternoon with historian and theologian Rachel Ciano from Sydney Missionary & Bible College - SMBC.
On Sunday 1 March, Rachel will show us how the Reformation emerged from real disagreements over authority, grace, the Church and the Christian life. She will help us understand Roman Catholicism on its own terms and with humility, care and grace, show us where and why our differences still remain.
Together, we'll look at Scripture and tradition, grace and works, Mary, the Mass, and the priesthood. We'll also explore the practical impact of these differences on assurance, prayer, guilt, comfort and access to God. The differences between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism aren't just about history - they're about the clarity of the gospel and the glory of Christ.
This event is open to the public so we'd love for you to join us! No RSVP is required, just turn up.
