A Pilgrimage of Offering and Support
To Buddhist Monastics and Monasteries in Ladakh, Indian Himalayas
September 2026
Dear Dharma friends and members of the Vietnamese Buddhist community,
There are hardships that can perhaps be understood most deeply by those who have
themselves experienced displacement and the pain of leaving their homeland. After
1975, millions of Vietnamese people were forced to leave their homeland, crossing
the seas in search of refuge and the hope of rebuilding their lives. Along that
journey, countless people endured hunger, danger, separation and loss, while many
never reached the other shore and remained forever at sea. Through many fortunate
conditions and the compassionate support of the international community, those
who reached countries of resettlement were gradually able to rebuild their lives.
Because of this, today we and our younger generations are blessed with the peace,
safety and stability that we now enjoy.
The Tibetan people have also endured a deeply difficult journey of displacement.
Particularly since 1959, hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have been forced to
leave their homeland, crossing the dangerous Himalayan mountains to seek refuge
in India and neighbouring regions. Among them were many Buddhist monks and
nuns. They carried with them not material possessions, but the monastic precepts,
the Buddhist scriptures, and a heartfelt aspiration to preserve and continue the
precious teachings of the Buddha.
Even today, in the remote mountainous regions of Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas,
many monasteries and monastics continue to live, study and practise the Dharma
under very simple conditions. Winters are long, the climate is harsh, the mountains
are covered with snow, and travelling between remote communities can be
extremely difficult.
With the heartfelt spirit:
Those who have experienced displacement understand and care for those who
are displaced.
As children of the Buddha, we support and care for fellow children of the
Buddha.
Our Phap Bao Dharma Community in Sydney has therefore made the aspiration to
travel personally to remote and isolated monasteries throughout Ladakh in the
Himalayas to visit and make offerings directly to the monks and nuns living and
practising there.
With sincere respect, we would like to invite Buddhist practitioners, members of
the Vietnamese community, friends and supporters near and far to join us in this
offering according to your own ability and heartfelt aspiration.
The amount is not important. Whether large or small, an offering made with
gratitude and compassion can become a precious and meaningful cause, helping
the Sangha to continue their study and practice with greater peace of mind, and
supporting their efforts to preserve and uphold the precious Buddhadharma.
May the merits of these offerings be dedicated to our parents who are still with us,
that they may live in peace and well-being; to our parents of many lifetimes, that
they may receive benefit; and to all those who lost their lives on journeys in search
of freedom.
May all beings who are presently suffering through war, displacement and hardship
soon find a place of safety and peace.
May the precious Buddhadharma endure for generations to come.
May the light of compassion and wisdom continue to shine among the snow-
covered mountains of the Himalayas.

Thông Báo Chuyến Hành Hương Cúng Dường
Chư Tăng Ni và Chùa Viện Phật Giáo vùng Ladakh, Himalaya Ấn Độ

Kính thưa quý đồng hương Phật tử,
Có những nỗi gian truân mà chỉ những người từng trải qua cảnh ly hương mới có thể cảm nhận sâu sắc. Sau năm 1975, hàng triệu người Việt Nam chúng ta đã phải rời quê hương, vượt biển tìm một nơi nương náu và xây dựng lại cuộc đời. Trên hành trình ấy, biết bao người đã trải qua đói khát, hiểm nguy, chia lìa, và có những người mãi mãi nằm lại giữa biển khơi. Nhờ nhiều nhân duyên và sự cưu mang của cộng đồng quốc tế, những người đến được nước thứ ba dần ổn định cuộc sống, để hôm nay chúng ta và thế hệ con cháu có được cuộc sống bình an và ổn định như hôm nay.
Người dân Tây Tạng cũng đã trải qua một hành trình ly hương đầy gian khó như vậy. Đặc biệt từ năm 1959, hàng chục ngàn người Tây Tạng đã phải rời quê hương, vượt qua những dãy núi Himalaya hiểm trở để sang Ấn Độ và các vùng lân cận tìm nơi nương náu. Trong số đó có rất nhiều chư Tăng Ni, mang theo bên mình không phải tài sản, mà là giới pháp, kinh điển và một tâm nguyện gìn giữ, tiếp nối giáo pháp của Đức Phật. Cho đến hôm nay, tại những vùng núi xa xôi của Ladakh – Himalaya, Ấn Độ, vẫn còn nhiều tự viện và chư Tăng Ni sống, tu học trong điều kiện rất đơn sơ. Mùa đông kéo dài, khí hậu khắc nghiệt, núi cao tuyết phủ và việc đi lại vô cùng khó khăn.
Với tinh thần:
Người từng ly hương thương người ly hương,
Người con Phật hộ trì người con Phật.
Đạo tràng Pháp Bảo Sydney chúng ta phát tâm tìm đến tận những ngôi chùa xa xôi, hẻo lánh tại vùng Ladakh – Himalaya để trực tiếp viếng thăm và cúng dường chư Tăng Ni đang tu học nơi đây.
Chúng con xin thành kính thông báo và kính mời quý Phật tử, quý đồng hương gần xa, tùy theo khả năng và tâm nguyện của mình, cùng góp một tấm lòng cúng dường và giúp đỡ. Không quan trọng nhiều hay ít. Một phần cúng dường dù lớn hay nhỏ, khi được trao đi bằng lòng biết ơn và tâm từ bi, cũng có thể trở thành một nhân duyên thù thắng, để giúp chư Tăng Ni an tâm tiếp tục con đường tu học và gìn giữ Chánh pháp.
Nguyện đem công đức cúng dường này hồi hướng cho cha mẹ hiện tiền được bình an, cha mẹ nhiều đời được lợi lạc; hồi hướng cho những người đã mất trên hành trình tìm tự do; và nguyện cho tất cả chúng sanh đang sống trong chiến tranh, lưu lạc và khổ đau sớm tìm được nơi bình an. Nguyện Chánh pháp trường tồn. Nguyện ánh sáng từ bi và trí tuệ luôn được tiếp nối nơi những vùng núi tuyết Himalaya.
