Our Journeying with Locals... in this case Christa and Phil Megaw as they shared their experiences of their journeys (so far) on The Camino Way. Beautiful scenes but even more beautiful experiences and people along the way.

The Megaws shared that they found the Australian Friends of the Camino a very useful group while considering, planning and organising their journeys: https://www.afotc.org/.

The Prayer of La Faba can be found on the wall of a church in the small mountain village of La Faba, just outside O Cebreiro, Spain. It is an incredible inspiration for keeping an open heart and mind and staying in tune with God as we make our journeys in life. That's when the journey is worth everything.

For the full text of the Prayer of La Faba, please click on the photo of what Megaws carry with them.

This morning with Lynona was thought-provoking.
Hands across the water. Jesus' hands.
How can we hold out our hands to help others?
And sometimes we need to reach out for help and care ourselves.
We have the Holy Spirit with us always.
Sail with us.

Rev Philip Gardner shared that for a good narrative of any kind, there's no simple takeaway. They are not neat with a straightforward lesson. Jacob is no template for holy living. This story has visions of beauty and the closeness of God, and at other times it forces us to face ourselves, and our decisions, and the mistakes we've made. Through it all, it reminds us that God remains with us.

Bring your welcoming, accepting spirit to all whom you meet. May God go with you... the gift of multiculturalism rather than the bigotry of monoculturalism. Thank you, Leigh Newton, for joining us with those thoughts and special music focus.

Adrian's message about Christian engagement has particular salience given the strong evangelical support for Donald Trump, someone who, almost perfectly, fails to embody the Way of Jesus.
