On this day - June 2 - in 1867, the Wallaroo Mines Wesleyan Church was opened. The church closed in 1976, and was demolished in 1980.

The first photo is one we have in our collection. The date and photographer are unknown. The other two have been shared with us from one our followers - Steven Birchby - and we thank Steven for sharing them with us. The first one dates from around 1980 and was taken just prior to demolition, and the remaining photo dates from 1905, and was taken from the Mines mechanics' workshop looking across the mines to the church.

Do you have any memories, stories, information or photographs of the Wallaroo Mines Church that you would be prepared to share with us to add to our collection? We'd love to hear from you if you do.
