CHANGE YOUR LANGUAGE. - David Yongi Cho
One morning I was eating breakfast with one of Korea’s leading neurosurgeons, who was telling me about various medical findings on the operation of the brain. He asked, “Dr.
Cho, did you know that the speech center in the brain rules over all the nerves? You ministers really have power, because according to our recent findings in neurology, the speech
center in the brain has total dominion over all the other nerves.”
Then I laughed, saying, “I’ve known that for a long time.”
“How did you know that?” he asked. “In the world of neurology these are new findings.”
I replied that I had learned it from Dr. James.
“Who is this Dr. James?” he asked.
“He was one of the famous doctors in biblical times, nearly two thousand years ago,” I replied. “And in his book, chapter three, the first few verses, Dr. James clearly defines the activity
and importance of the tongue and the speech center.”
The neurosurgeon was completely amazed. “Does the Bible really teach about this?”
“Yes,” I answered. “The tongue is the least member of our body, but can bridle the whole body.”
Then this neurosurgeon began to expound their findings.
He said that the speech nerve center had such power over all of the body that simply speaking can give one control over his body, to manipulate it in the way he wishes. He said, “If
someone keeps on saying, ‘I’m going to become weak,’ then right away, all the nerves receive that message, and they say,
‘Oh, let’s prepare to become weak, for we’ve received instructions from our central communication that we should become weak.’ They then in natural sequence adjust their
physical attitudes to weakness.
“If someone says, ‘Well, I have no ability. I can’t do this job,’ then right away all the nerves begin to declare the same thing. ‘Yes,’ they respond, ‘we received instruction from the central nervous system saying that we have no abilities, to give up striving to develop any capacity for capability. We must prepare ourselves to be part of an incapable person.’
“If someone keeps saying, ‘I’m very old. I’m so very old,and am tired and can’t do anything,’ then right away, thespeech central control responds, giving out orders to that
effect. The nerves respond, ‘Yes, we are old. We are ready for the grave. Let’s be ready to disintegrate.’ If someone keeps saying that he is old, then that person is soon going to die.”
That neurosurgeon continued saying, “That man should never retire. Once a man retires, he keeps repeating to himself, ‘I am retired,’ and all the nerves start responding and become less active, and ready for a quick death.”That conversation carried much meaning for me, and made an impact on my life, for I could see that one important usage of the spoken word is the creation of a successful personal life.

People easily adapt to speaking in a negative way. “Boy, am I poor. I’ve even no money to give the Lord.” When an opportunity does come for a job with a good salary, the nervous system responds, “I am not able to be rich because I
haven’t received that reverse instruction from my nerve center yet. I am supposed to be poor, so I can’t accept this job. I can’t afford to have the money.” Like attracts like, and since you act
as if you were a poor person, you attract poverty; this attraction, if it remains consistent, will allow you to permanently dwell in poverty.

Exactly as the Bible said nearly 2,000 years ago, it is so today. Medical science has just recently discovered this principle. This one neurosurgeon said that people should keep
saying to themselves, “I am young. I am able. I can do the work of a young person no matter what my chronological age is.”
The nerves of that person will then come alive and thus receive power and strength from the nerve center.
The Bible says clearly that whosoever controls the tongue, controls the whole body. What you speak, you are going to get. If you keep on saying that you are poor, then all of your system conditions itself to attract poverty, and you will feel at home in poverty;you would rather be poor. But if you keep on saying that you are able, that you can achieve success, then all of your body would be bridled to success. You would be ready to meet any challenge, ready to conquer it. This is the reason you should never speak in a negative way.
Before you can be changed, you must change your language. If you do not change your language, you cannot change yourself. If you want to see your children changed, you must first teach them to use the proper language. If you want to see rebellious and irresponsible youth changed into responsible adult you must teach them this new language.

In Korea we have a habit of making frequent use of words having to do with dying. Common expressions are:
“Oh, it’s so warm I could die;” “Oh, I’ve eaten so much I could suffocate to death;” “Oh, I’m so happy I could die;” and “Oh, I’m scared to death.” Koreans repeatedly use these
negative words. That is the reason that throughout Korea’s five thousand year history we have been constantly dying, constantly at war. My generation has never seen total peace in our country. I was born during World War II, grew up during the Korean War, and now still live in a country on the brink of war.

Where can we learn this new language? From the best language book of all, the Bible. Read the Bible From Genesis to Revelation. Acquire the Bible’s language, speak the word of faith, and feed your nervous system with a vocabulary of constructive, progressive, productive and victorious words.
Speak those words;keep repeating them, so that they will have control of your whole body. Then you will become victorious, for you will be completely conditioned to meet your
environment and circumstances, and achieve success. This is the first important reason to use the spoken word: to create the power to have a successful personal life.

Young people are walking away from empty trends, burnout culture, anxiety, and performative lifestyles… and searching for something REAL.

Churches are seeing salvations.Bible sales are rising.Prayer circles are growing.Young men and women are boldly choosing Christ.

This generation isn’t perfect. But they are hungry for truth, identity, healing, purpose, and the presence of God.

A shift is happening because God said it would happen!!!

MARILYN HICKEY became a Christian as a teenager. She and her late husband, Wallace “Wally” Hickey (married over 50 years until his death in 2012), served in pastoral roles in Texas and Colorado. They co-pastored Orchard Road Christian Center (later Encounter Church) in the Denver area, which grew significantly.

Her public ministry started modestly in the early 1960s with home Bible studies—beginning with a series of 22 studies—that expanded into radio, a local church, and eventually international outreach.

At age 42, she felt a strong divine call to take God’s Word worldwide. This led her to travel extensively, often in partnership with influences like T.L. and Daisy Osborn.

She authored numerous books and taught through “classic” messages still aired today.
Healing and miracles — Emphasis on divine healing, with reports of large-scale healing services.
Global evangelism — Reaching over 146 countries, including high-risk or restricted nations (e.g., Pakistan, Sudan, Iran, China, Muslim-majority areas). She held massive crusades—such as a 2012 event in Karachi, Pakistan (hundreds of thousands in attendance) and a 2016 meeting reportedly drawing over a million people—and distributed Bibles while engaging with government leaders and officials from diverse religious backgrounds.

Her daily television program Today with Marilyn and Sarah (co-hosted with her daughter Sarah Bowling) has aired in nearly 200 countries, with a potential audience in the billions.
Humanitarian elements included helping the needy, and the ministry supported Bible distribution, soul-winning, and building bridges across cultures.
She served on the Board of Regents at Oral Roberts University, the Board of Directors for David Yonggi Cho’s Church Growth International (as the first woman), and other leadership positions.
She founded Word to the World College (formerly Marilyn Hickey Bible College) to train others.
Later Years and LegacyEven into her 90s, Hickey remained active in international travel, domestic Bible Encounters, speaking engagements, and media.

Hickey passed away on April 25, 2026, at age 94. Her work is remembered for its optimistic, energetic style and global impact through teaching, healing crusades, and media that reached millions.

Here’s a rewritten version of your story—clean, powerful, and more flowy for preaching or sharing:

🔥 “You Failed to Pay the Price” — Rewritten Story

By the fall of 1949, A. A. Allen and his family began hearing reports of something unusual—miraculous healing meetings were happening across the nation.

These evangelists were not necessarily great speakers. Many preachers were far more eloquent. Yet when these men prayed for the sick, miracles happened instantly—so many that they could hardly be counted.

Allen struggled to believe it.

Even when a friend handed him a copy of The Voice of Healing, he read it with skepticism. Closing the magazine, he dismissed it as fanaticism. Some of his own church members attended those meetings and returned with powerful testimonies—but still, he brushed it off.

Yet deep inside… something was stirring.

It wasn’t disbelief—it was conviction.

What he was seeing was not strange—it was familiar. It was the very calling God had once placed on his life… now being fulfilled by others.

But time and compromise can distance a man from his calling. What once burned brightly can become a faint memory.

Not long after, some fellow ministers convinced him to attend a tent revival led by Oral Roberts in Dallas.

On the journey there, memories flooded back.

Years earlier, in a moment of deep prayer, God had spoken to him—giving him thirteen conditions that would unlock a miracle-working ministry. But instead of pursuing that path, Allen had stepped into pastoring and quietly set that vision aside.

As he drew closer to Dallas, one thing became clear:

He was about to witness… what he was meant to become.

And then it hit him hard:

He had never paid the price.

When he arrived, he was overwhelmed.

The power of God was real. Tangible. Undeniable.
Miracle after miracle unfolded before his eyes—just like the book of Acts.

This wasn’t fanaticism.

This was God.

As he sat watching the prayer line, the voice of God spoke clearly to his heart:

“Eleven years ago, I called you into this same ministry…
But you failed to pay the price.
You failed to consecrate yourself.
And you have not done what I called you to do.”

Broken, with tears streaming down his face, Allen lifted his hands and cried:

“Lord… I’ll do it!”

Two Sundays later, he resigned from his church.

Everything changed.

Opportunities opened immediately. Invitations came from across the nation. Within weeks, he stepped fully into evangelistic ministry.

He and his family moved into a simple trailer and took to the road—completely surrendered to the call of God.

Then he returned to the list.

Thirteen conditions God had given him years before.

As he reviewed them, he realized something shocking—almost all had been completed… except the last two.

Eleven years… delayed.

With renewed determination, he committed himself fully and completed what remained.

And then—it happened.

The miracles began.

By 1950, reports of powerful revivals were spreading. In meetings, the presence of God would fall so heavily that people were healed right in their seats—without even being prayed for.

Then came another step of faith.

In 1951, he felt led to purchase a revival tent—costing $8,500.

He only had $1,500.

Still, he stepped out in faith.

Miraculously, the owner agreed to his offer, allowing him to pay the rest over time.

On July 4, 1951, that tent went up for the very first time—and a new chapter of ministry was born.

🔥 Key Message:

Your calling is not lost—but it can be delayed.

God is still calling.
God is still speaking.

But there is always a price to pay.

👉 The question is: Will you pay i
