Today was our annual blessing of the blankets that have been lovingly made by members of the congregation and the community. These blankets are donated to Stewart House for the children who attend.
Each year, they welcome 1,600 public school children to their safe haven by the beach at Curl Curl, at no cost to their parents or carers. During their 12-day stay, children receive dental, optical, hearing, and medical screening and treatment.
They also take part in educational programs and excursions that build social and emotional skills, boost self-esteem, and support overall wellbeing. This time away offers a vital break from challenging circumstances, inspiring hope and new possibilities.
Children in their care attend a specific purpose school onsite for 10 days of their 12-day stay, supported by the NSW Department of Education. Every other cost, from accommodation and meals to health services and excursions, is made possible through the generosity of our donors.
