Multicultural Sunday Celebrations – 30 August 2026

St. Patrick’s Parish celebrated a beautiful and joyful Multicultural Sunday on Sunday, 30 August, bringing together people from many different cultures and backgrounds as one united family in Christ. The Multicultural Mass was enriched by the beautiful singing of three choirs—the English, Filipino and Indian Choirs—who led the congregation in hymns and songs in English, Malayalam, Filipino and Syriac languages. A particularly meaningful part of the celebration was the Prayers of the Faithful, recited in 23 different languages, reflecting the wonderful cultural diversity of our parish community.

Following the Mass, everyone gathered for a wonderful sharing of multicultural food, with delicious dishes representing different cultures and traditions. The celebrations continued with vibrant dance and musical performances, creating an atmosphere of joy, friendship and fellowship. It was truly a memorable day that celebrated the richness and beauty of God’s Family, reminding us that although we come from different cultures and speak different languages, we are united by one faith, one Lord and one parish community.

95th BIRTHDAY OF FAY O’TOOLE

The Vincent de Paul Community of St. Patrick’s Church, Beenleigh, gathered on 27th August at the Beenleigh Bowls Club to celebrate the 95th birthday of Fay O’Toole. It was a joyful and memorable occasion filled with gratitude, friendship and appreciation for Fay’s remarkable contribution to our parish community. Her many years of dedicated and selfless service, both as a counter at St. Patrick’s Church and as a committed member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, were warmly acknowledged and celebrated. Fay’s faith, generosity and willingness to serve others have been a wonderful example to the parish community. We give thanks to God for the gift of her life and pray that He continues to bless Fay with good health, joy and abundant grace in the years ahead.

VOCATION AWARENESS SUNDAY (23rd August 2026, Sunday)

On Vocation Awareness Week Sunday, 23 August 2026, St. Patrick’s Parish, Beenleigh, warmly welcomed Sr. Theresa and Sr. Anna from Vocation Brisbane at all four Masses. They shared their inspiring vocation stories and introduced the mission of Vocation Brisbane, which seeks to raise awareness that God calls each person to a particular vocation and way of life, including Priesthood, Religious Life, Married Life and Single Life. They reminded the parish community of the importance of listening to God’s call, encouraging and supporting young people in discerning their vocation, and actively promoting vocations to Priesthood and Religious Life. Their presence and witness were a wonderful opportunity for the parish to reflect on the many ways God continues to call people to serve Him and His Church.

CONCLUSION OF PARISH YOUTH ALPHA PROGRAM (16 August 2026, Sunday)

The St. Patrick’s Youth Alpha Session concluded on 16 August 2026, marking a meaningful journey of faith, fellowship, and discovery for the young people who participated. A group of enthusiastic youth, under the leadership of Christian Almario, came together to share their experiences, explore questions about life and faith, and deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith. Fr. Jerry, Parish Priest, was also present to accompany the young people and respond to their questions, offering guidance and encouragement. The session was a wonderful opportunity for the youth to grow together in faith, strengthen their relationship with Christ, and build a supportive community within the parish.
