Church Street Church of Christ

Church Street Church of Christ Bringing the church that Jesus built in the first century into the 21st century. Because of this, we are not a "come as you are" church. No one at Church St.

The Church Street Church of Christ is a diverse and growing family of Bible believing and practicing Christians. We take very seriously our Lord's command to do all in His name (Colossians 3:27) and hold ourselves to the high standard of bringing glory the name of Christ (1 Peter 4:16). At the same time, we recognize that our Lord and Saviour came to help those who had a great need and not those w

ho were already complete spiritually (Luke 19:10; Mark 2:17). In light of this, we are a "come no matter who you are" church - regardless of your race, social or family background, or economic level, you will find a home at Church St. We are also a "come no matter what you have done" church. can say that they are perfect, but together we are striving for the goal of living in the footsteps of a perfect Saviour (Philippians 3:14). We would love to have you join us in this goal. Worship activities
When Jesus was still on this earth, he said that God was looking for people who would worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). As such is the case, one of the major activities each week for members at Church St. is the time when they come together to worship their God. Our worship consists of preaching and teaching from the Word of God, singing a capella (without musical instruments), a freewill collection from the members at Church St., prayers, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper each week. Some would call our worship "traditional" but we prefer to call it scriptural, in that we try our best to recreate the pattern of worship found in churches of the New Testament era. Though we have reasons for choosing this style of worship, we believe that the results speak for themselves. Come and see what worshipping in spirit and truth looks like. We have two unique services each Sunday. Sunday:

Bible Study Activities
The Bible can be daunting when you first pick it up. Where do you begin? A man in Bible times was reading the book of Isaiah and was asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?" He responded, "How can I unless someone guides me?" (Acts 8:30, 31). At Church St., we don't claim to have all the answers, but we do claim that God's word does (John 8:31, 32) and that we can know God's word when we diligently study it (John 8:31, 32; 2 Timothy 2:15; Acts 17:11). To help both members and visitors to understand God's word better, we have two meeting times each week dedicated to Bible study. During our Bible study hour on Sunday, we divide up into classes designed for each age group. On Wednesday nights, we generally have a combined class but still offer a separate class for the youngest age groups. We invite you to visit our classes and learn more about our glorious God and His word, the Bible! Sunday:
9:30AM - Children's Songs and Bible Quiz Time
9:40AM - Bible Classes for All Ages

Wednesday:

Conflict is inevitable, but how we handle it matters. In Matthew 18:15-17, Jesus gives us a clear roadmap for dealing with sin in the church. The goal? It’s never to win an argument or expose a wrongdoer—it’s always restoration.

Here is the 4-step process:

Step 1: Go Privately – Ensure it is an actual sin (Matt 5:22) and not just a preference (Rom 14:1-2). Check your pride and address them one-on-one (Matt 18:15a). If they listen, the relationship is restored (Matt 18:15b).

Step 2: Take Witnesses – If ignored, bring objective mediators (Matt 18:16) to establish the facts (Deut 19:15) and help bridge the gap (Php 4:2-3).

Step 3: Tell the Church – Involve the congregation and leadership (Matt 18:17a) with gentleness, aiming to restore the person rather than destroy them through harsh exposure (2 Cor 2:5-7).

Step 4: Disfellowship in Love – Remove them from fellowship if they reject the church (Matt 18:17b, 1 Cor 5:1-2). Admonish them as a brother, not an enemy (2 Thess 3:15), standing ready to reaffirm love when they return (2 Cor 2:8).

True biblical conflict resolution balances truth and grace. It protects the holiness of the church while relentlessly pursuing the heart of the wandering believer.
