On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the Synodical Assembly of Lutheran Mission - Australia voted unanimously and with great joy in favour of altar-and-pulpit fellowship with the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Diocese of Finland. The ELMDF, led by Bishop Pohjola, will respond in the coming days. Although Bishop Pohjola was prevented from attending the Assembly in person, a greeting from Bishop Pohjola was read. Fervent prayers offered for the protection, comfort and strengthening of our brothers and sisters in Finland.

On Saturday 29 August 2026, the LM-A Synodical Assembly voted unanimously to recognise altar-and-pulpit fellowship with the Lutheran Church Canada. Those present rose to sing the Common Doxology as a sign of our joy and thanksgiving to God for our common confession. LCC President-Elect David Haberstock witnessed the completion of the fellowship agreement signed by President Tim Teuscher at the LCC Convention of Synod earlier this year. On Saturday 29 August 2026, the LM-A Synodical Assembly unanimously voted in support of the motion to recognise altar-and-pulpit fellowship with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. All present rose to sing the Common Doxology 'as a sign of our joy and thanksgiving to God for our common confession, and in joyful anticipation of our mutual recognition of altar and pulpit fellowship.' LCMS President, Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison then formally recognised the relationship on behalf of the LCMS, and fellowship papers were signed.
