Logan Congregational Church is sad to announce that their Church Secretary Galumalemana Leu Liu Leu has passed away from cancer on 13 April.

Born 6 October 1971, he came to Australia to find a better life for his family. He worked hard, enjoyed life, loved everybody and was deeply loved and respected in return.

In his great generosity and care for others he was a true Christian and in his work for his Church, a true Congregationalist.

He was laid to rest by his pastor, Hosea Tulua in the presence of his many family and friends.

Today's service was conducted by Elle Durrance. This was Eleanor's first service. She ran a shepherding theme through it. Nearly 40 years ago Rev. John Wheeler baptised Eleanor and this was his first baptism. He was very proud to be at Elle's first service. (John is 97 years old.) The congregation all enjoyed the service, and much merriment was had at morning tea afterwards.

December 25 Christmas Day The Christmas day service was conducted by Dr Joe with a bit of help from grandaughter - Mackenzie. Once a gain we enjoyed a Christmas morning tea afterwards before joining family for festive celebrations.

Festive Season We celebrated the beginning of the season with a Christmas Carols celebration on December 11. The evening informed us of the historical background to the carols, singing the carols and being entertained by the Bardon Cellar Singers. We wrapped the night up with a supper enjoyed by all.

Recipe:⁣⠀⠀
- around 620g Brussels Sprouts, halved ⁣⠀⠀
- a couple handfuls pecan nuts⁣⠀⠀
- a Handful dried cranberries ⁣⠀⠀
- 3tbsp balsamic vinegar ⁣⠀⠀
- 2tbsp maple syrup⁣⠀⠀
- 1/2 tsp garlic granules - 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes ⁣(how ever much you like)⠀⠀
- olive oil, for cooking⁣⠀⠀
- salt & pepper⁣⠀⠀

Method:⁣⠀⠀
1. Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/400F/gas mark. Line a large baking tray with non stick baking parchment.⁣⠀⠀
2. Add your sliced sprouts to the lined baking tray then drizzle with a little olive oil, rub the oil into the sprouts using your hands, then season with salt and pepper. ⁣⠀⠀
3. Roast in the oven for 10 mins until slightly soft.⁣⠀⠀
4. Meanwhile make the glaze by adding the balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, garlic granules chilli flakes to a small bowl of jug, then whisk everything together until combined. ⁣⠀⠀
5. Take out the sprouts, add the pecans & dried cranberries, then drizzle with the balsamic glaze. ⁣⠀⠀
6. Place back into the oven and cook for another 5-10 minutes, until the sprouts are roasted but soft. Enjoy! .
