Seminarians on Mission Part 4: Biloela.

Oliver and Grant had the privilege of spending their mission week in southwestern parishes of the Valleys with Father Simeon. During their time they visited Biloela, Monto, and Moura.

Here they got a keen insight into the life of ministry in a country parish. The joys and the challenges, the warmth of the people, and the distance you have to travel to pastor to them.

The witness of faith of these people is truly inspiring and will not soon be forgotten for these students.

Oh and we also put Oliver on a horse.

On Thursday, the seminarians joined with the religious and the faithful from the Archdiocese to pray for vocations.

This was a time of music, evening prayer, and adoration at Saint Stephen's Cathedral. Archbishop Shane presided the event, which was organised by Vocation Brisbane, Australian Catholic University (ACU), and the Seminary.

Before and after the prayer the religious orders and various other ministry groups of the Archdiocese held stalls where those considering a vocation could get an idea of where God may be calling them.

Happy Sunday! This weekend, men discerning the priesthood joined us at the Seminary.

This was a part of the "Quo Vadis" retreat: an opportunity for men of the province of Queensland to intentionally discern the priesthood.

As a part of this, Archbishop Shane McKinlay celebrated Mass.

Thanks to Nick and Xavier from Vocation Brisbane for their work on the retreat this year.

Seminarians on Mission Part 3: Capricorn Coast

Last week Eddie and Pio joined Father Stephen and the communities in Emu Park and Yeppoon.

For them it was a great experience of welcome and ministry in some of the most beautiful parts of Central Queensland.

Seminarians on Mission Part 2: Emerald

Oscar, Kalepo, and Daniel found themselves out west for Mission Week.

Their time was spent among the people that call Emerald, Springsure, and the Gemfields home. They fossicked for gems, visited farms, and learned from the SVD priests who pastor in the region.

Seminarians on Mission Part 1: Rockhampton Parishes

Last week, Shane and Vincent visited the parishes of Rockhampton City in their week of mission in the diocese.

Ministry at the heart of the diocese is varied and the seminarians got to experience so much of it. Their mission saw them speaking in schools, worshipping in St. Joseph's Cathedral, various pastoral visits, and so much more.

Great experience of real ministry for these students.

Seminarians are on mission in Rockhampton Diocese!

This week the Seminarians are out to see the central Queensland parishes of Rockhampton.

As far as emerald in the East, Bundaberg in the south and Mackay in the north.

Many adventures and learnings are sure to follow for our students.

Here pictured is the end of our talk with some staff of Rockhampton Catholic education before we set off on our separate ways.
