💙 Happy Father’s Day from Yorkie!

Today we want to celebrate and say thank you to the dads, grandads, stepdads, foster dads, father figures, mentors and men who have chosen to love, encourage, guide and stand alongside others.

We also recognise that Father’s Day can hold all sorts of emotions. For some it’s a day of celebration and gratitude. For others, it can carry grief, disappointment, absence or memories of someone deeply missed.

Whatever today looks like for you, our prayer is that we would all be reminded of the love of our Heavenly Father.

A Father who is faithful.
A Father who knows us completely.
A Father who welcomes us, walks with us and never lets us go.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
1 John 3:1

To all the fathers and father figures in our Yorkie family, thank you for the ways you love, serve, encourage and invest in the lives of others.

And above all, today we give thanks to our Heavenly Father, whose love is greater than we could ever imagine. ❤️

🔨 Our Working Bee is in full swing! 🎨

What a great morning it’s been at York Street! A huge thank you to everyone who came along early and got stuck in. It’s already been an incredibly productive day, with multiple rooms being painted at the same time and plenty happening around the place.

If you’ve got a bit of free time this afternoon and feel like popping in to lend a hand, we’d love to see you. Come for as long or as little as you like.

There’s free food, plenty of laughs, and lots of jobs still happening!

Thanks again to everyone who has helped out today. We’re so grateful for the way people generously give their time and energy to care for our church home. ❤️

**Urgent Prayer Request: Nepal and the Himalayas**

Church, we would love you to join us in prayer tonight for the people of Nepal and the wider Himalayan region following the devastating floods and landslides that have occurred.

Many lives have been lost, hundreds of people remain missing, and communities have been devastated.

This is a part of the world that is particularly close to our hearts. Through our missional connections, we have relationships with people serving Jesus and their communities in this region, so this news feels especially close to home. While people we know are safe we wish to pray for the community.

Please pray:

• For those who have lost loved ones and those desperately waiting for news of family and friends.

• For those who are still missing, and for rescue teams working in incredibly difficult conditions.

• For safety, wisdom and strength for our missional partners and Christian communities throughout the region.

• For churches and followers of Jesus to be able to respond practically with compassion, generosity and hope.

• For God’s protection over vulnerable communities as the danger continues.

Above all, pray that in the middle of incredible grief and uncertainty, people would know the presence, comfort and peace of Jesus.

Lord, have mercy. Bring comfort to those who grieve, protection to those in danger, strength to those responding, and hope to communities that have lost so much. Be especially close to our brothers and sisters serving You throughout this region. Amen.

Office Closure - Tuesday 25 August

Please note: Our church office will be closed on Tuesday 25 August as our staff team will be offsite for a retreat day.

The office will still be open for our 6am Prayer Meeting on Tuesday, and we would love for you to join us!

🎉 WE DID IT! THANK YOU! 💡

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our York Street community, we’ve raised over $32,000 towards our Let There Be Light campaign!
That means we’ve reached and exceeded our $30,000 goal!

The campaign is now officially closed, and we’re moving ahead with finalising quotes, purchasing the new lighting equipment and preparing for installation.
A massive thank you to everyone who gave. Every gift, large or small, has helped make this possible.

We’re incredibly grateful for the way our church continues to generously invest in the future of York Street.
