Our conversation on the Book of Mark 10 shows us that our strength, success and status can't carry us into the kingdom. Entering God's kingdom isn't something we achieve - it's something God makes possible by His grace. The young children and the blind man show the truth: the kingdom opens to those who come empty, needy and trusting.

Let's take these words to heart:
God's grace does the work.
God's grace opens the door.
God's grace brings us in.

"Only God's grace can do the impossible work of bringing us into God's kingdom."
- Ptr. Obet Peralta

Define the Relationship 👥|| 24.05.2026

Sister Sam opens her sharing with the questions;
What is your relationship with Jesus? Are you a true follower? Or are you just a fan of Jesus?

It reminds that whoever wants to be Jesus’ disciples we must:

1. Deny ourselves.
To deny oneself is to reject the natural human inclination towards selfishness. Rejecting trying to put ourselves in the centre of our lives, but instead putting God in the centre.

2. Take up the cross.
Taking up the cross points towards costly obedience – willingly accepting hardships, willingly accepting loss, willingly accepting suffering for the sake of Christ and others.

3. Follow Him.
To follow Him means following the path that Jesus has walked – denying oneself & carrying the cross, that’s what the path of following Jesus looks like. Not the way we choose, or the path that we want to walk.

On last Sundays sharing, sister Sam shared the message of Mark 8:27 & chapter 9. With her OPM of ‘A follower of Christ walks away from the world to walk the way of Christ’, it challenges us to follow the path of a follower of Christ, which is to deny ourself, take up the cross and follow him.

He provides a rationale/reason/logic for accepting these demands:
• Whoever will save their life will lose it
• But whoever loses their life for Jesus and for the gospel will save it.

Jesus also provides a warning:
• If anyone is ashamed of Him and His words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them on the day of judgement.

But he also provides a promise:
• Some of who are standing will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.

Our challenge for the week is to
1. Deny yourself - choosing God’s will above your own desires, pride, and selfish ambitions.
2. Take up your cross - willingly obey God, even when it involves sacrifice, hardship, or suffering.
3. Follow Him - living in faith and obedience daily, not on occasional interest.

Learning to see Jesus clearly || 17.05.26

Last Sunday, we explored Mark 6–8 and reflected on what it truly means to see Jesus clearly and understand His identity.

From feeding the five thousand, to calming fears and healing the blind, bro. Bryan reminded us that truly seeing Jesus goes beyond witnessing His works in these chapters, it means recognising Jesus as the Christ and seeing the way of the cross.

To see Jesus clearly we must not merely see Him as a miracle worker, teacher and provider, but also as the Christ who gave His life for us through the cross.

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭34‬-‭35‬ ‭

SUNDAY SERVICE | 17 MAY 2026
Learning to See Jesus Clearly ✨

We often look to Jesus for the miracles, the comfort, and the blessings. But do we see Him for who He truly is?

Today, we dove into Mark 6–8 to uncover the ultimate truth of His identity:

"To see Jesus clearly, we must see Him as the crucified Christ." ✝️

The cross was not a mistake or a failure—it is the absolute center of Jesus' mission. To truly know Him means looking past our own expectations and embracing the reality of the cross.

Your Challenge This Week:
1️⃣ Deny yourself
2️⃣ Take up your cross
3️⃣ Follow Him
