🌱 National Tree Day 2026 🌱
Today I joined Cumberland City Council and Planet Ark for National Tree Day, planting trees with our local community at Guilfoyle Park, Regents Park.
This is something close to my heart — AICC has been part of National Tree Day since 2007, and every year it reminds me why this matters: it’s not just about trees, it’s about neighbours from every background coming together to give back to the place we all call home.
It also took me back to my own childhood in Jordan, planting trees as a Scout in bare mountain hills that are now green — some now sit right in the middle of towns. Small acts really do outlast us.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “If the Hour should arrive while one of you has a seedling in his hand, let him plant it.” A beautiful reminder to keep doing good, no matter what.
