Dr Shayan Tai was elected chairperson of the Convention. On the evening prior to the Convention, delegates attended an evening service at the Bahai House of Worship in Mona Vale. The purpose of the convention was for 95 delegates from around the country to consult on the progress of the Australian Bahai Community, and to elect the nine members of the National Spiritual Assembly for 2026-27. Approximately 50 participants travelled from Queensland to take part in the Convention as either delegates or observers.
