In Baye Village, women used to walk 14 km round trips every day, carrying heavy buckets of water for their families. The journey was exhausting, caused conflict at home, and even affected their childrenโ€™s safety and well-being.

Now, a new borehole installed by Showers of Blessing right in their village has transformed life for the whole community. Water is safe, accessible, and plentiful for families to drink, cook, wash, and even start small gardens or projects without fear or frustration.

For years, Pertunia, a mother of four in rural Zimbabwe, walked hours every day to fetch water from a contaminated river, often returning home empty-handed.

Life was a constant battle to care for her family and survive.

Today, thanks to a community borehole installed on her land, everything has changed. Pertunia shares:

"I am happy because I had challenges in accessing water, [but] today, we've managed to plant our own vegetablesโ€ฆ Now we can plant our vegetables and sell them later."
