JUMP WITHOUT LOOKING
(The Confident Leap on Godโs Word)
TO THE BIBLE - Hebrews 11:1
โNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.โ
LETโS TALK
Liam: โI donโt knowโฆ I just feel like if I try to pray over this test, it wonโt make a difference.โ
Ava: โWhy not? Godโs Word says Heโll guide your steps. Faith isnโt guessing or hoping; itโs trusting His Word.โ
Liam: โBut what if it doesnโt work?
โ Ava: โThen it was not faith, because faith ALWAYS WORKS.โ
Faith isnโt a leap in the dark as some people think, but a leap on the Word of God. Understanding this simple truth will position you rightly to live triumphantly every day and help you judge whether youโre actually functioning in faith or not. Those who think faith is a mysterious leap in the dark are always apprehensive and reluctant to take the step thatโd have led them to victory. Theyโre always hesitating over stuff like exams, school projects, or standing up for whatโs right: โWhat if I fail the test?โ โWhat if I try to help my friend and it doesnโt work out?โ โWhat if I speak the Word and nothing changes?โ That shouldnโt be you.
Faith is the confident assurance that, based on Godโs Word, things favourably expected will come to pass. Faith doesnโt ask โwhat if?โ Rather, faith knows. In other words, faith knows that if hands are laid on the sick, theyโll recover, since thatโs what the Word says! Faith knows that if thereโs a need, then thereโll definitely be a corresponding supply based on Philippians 4:19: โAnd my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.โ Hallelujah!
If you see faith as a leap into the unknown, youโll always have many reasons for not doing the things you ought to do. Youโll always find yourself considering, reconsidering and hesitating. Faith depends on the Word of God as the basis and assurance for action. Faith hears and jumps, but fear hears the same thing and considers other factors. Remember, in the eyes of natural men, the Word of God is โunreasonableโ; it makes no sense. Thatโs because Godโs Word isnโt meant for the head but for the human spirit. Learn to respond to Godโs Word from your spirit, and your faith will always prevail.

Dear Lord, I refuse to reason out your Word and instructions in my mind; rather, I daily receive into my spirit, with faith and gladness, your engrafted Word, which is able to make a success out of me and put me over in life. As I put my faith to work and take my steps boldly in life, I thank you for causing me to triumph, excel, and make progress, in Jesusโ Name. Amen.
