🌹 Celebrating the Birthday of Mother Mary at Amoonguna Community 🌹

Birthdays are always special, and today was especially beautiful as we gathered to celebrate the birthday of our Blessed Mother, Mary. ❤️

The children and adults of the Amoonguna Community came together in faith and prayer to honour Mary and give thanks to God for the gift of her life and her loving presence in our journey of faith.

At the end of Holy Mass, we shared a beautiful moment by cutting a birthday cake and singing “Happy Birthday” to Mother Mary. 🎂🎶 It was a simple yet heartfelt gesture that expressed the deep faith, love and joy of the community.

May Mother Mary continue to accompany, protect and guide the Amoonguna Community and all of us closer to her Son, Jesus.

151st Foundation Anniversary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD)

Today, we give thanks to God for 151 years of the Society of the Divine Word and for the missionary spirit entrusted to us through our founder, St. Arnold Janssen.

With grateful hearts, we especially remember and pray for all the SVD priests serving in Alice Springs, sharing the Gospel and accompanying God’s people in Central Australia.

May St. Arnold Janssen intercede for all of us and inspire us to continue Christ’s mission with faith, courage and love.

Holy Mass at Hidden Valley Community 🌿🙏

Today, we reflected on this Sunday’s Gospel: “Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20)

We truly experienced the presence of Jesus as the Hidden Valley community came together to celebrate Holy Mass under the shade of a tree. It was a beautiful and joyful moment of prayer, fellowship and faith.

It was wonderful to see the community gathered together, united in faith and expressing their love for God. Wherever we gather in His name, Jesus is present among us.

May God continue to bless the Hidden Valley community, strengthen their faith, and fill every family with His peace, joy and love. 🙏🌿

The Feast of St Mother Teresa – Alice Springs

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, Alice Springs, joyfully celebrated the Feast of St Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

During the Holy Mass, we reflected on the beautiful life and witness of St Mother Teresa, who saw Jesus in the poorest of the poor and reached out with love, compassion and mercy to those most in need.

We also gave thanks to God for the gift of the Missionaries of Charity to our parish community. We are deeply grateful for their commitment, dedication, prayerful life and loving ministry among the poor and needy.

May St Mother Teresa continue to inspire us to recognise Jesus in every person, especially in those who are most vulnerable and forgotten.

🙏 St Augustine of Hippo – A Life Transformed by God 🙏

St Augustine (354–430) was one of the greatest saints and teachers of the Catholic Church. Born in North Africa, he spent his early years searching for happiness and truth, often living far from God.

Through the prayers of his mother, St Monica, and the guidance of St Ambrose, Augustine gradually discovered the truth of Christ. At the age of 33, he was baptised by St Ambrose.

Later, Augustine became a priest and then Bishop of Hippo. He devoted the rest of his life to preaching the Gospel, serving the poor, defending the faith and guiding the Church through his writings and teaching.

His life reminds us that no one is ever too far from God. God's grace can transform a searching heart into a faithful servant.
