Come Home to Christ this Easter

All parishioners are warmly invited to our Second Rite of Reconciliation on Monday evening next week.

This beautiful communal celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation offers us the opportunity to pause during Lent, reflect on God’s mercy, and receive individual absolution from one of the priests present.

Lent is a time to return to the Lord with open hearts. As we prepare for Easter, consider inviting your family and friends to join you. Someone you know may be waiting for an invitation to come home to Christ.

As St John Paul II reminds us:
"Do not be afraid. Open wide the doors to Christ."

Come and experience the peace, mercy, and healing that God freely offers.

All are welcome.

Calling all parents of young people in our Parish

This retreat day is for 14-19 yr olds and will be held at:

St. Francis Hall, West End, Good Shepherd Parish

on Saturday 2nd May.

We will be exploring the Church's teaching on love, life and marriage and how God calls each of us right where we are to glorify Him in whatever season of our lives. We will be using the 'You' program from Ascension Presents and Real Talk will facilitate the program with small groups (age appropriate), games, meals and fun.

Please email ([email protected]) or call, Hannah, with any questions/to register. It is so important for our young people to have a space to encounter the joy and life that God offers them, especially in matters of personal identity and sexuality.

Having run this retreat before, we have found young people’s faith set alight as they learn the beauty of Theology of the Body!

15 March 2026 - Fourth Sunday of Lent - Year A

As Jesus passed by he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, " Neither he nor his parents sinned; it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him" John 9:1-3

Reflect today on your own need to see more clearly. We need our spiritual sight restored and sharpened if we are to perceive ourselves and our world with divine Wisdom. It takes humility to admit we have poor spiritual sight, and profound humility to admit if we are spiritually blinded by sin. Learn from the wonder and awe that this healed blind man experienced, and know that our Lord wants us to have clearer spiritual vision.

8 March 2026 - Third Sunday of Lent - Year A

Jesus said to her, "Go call your husband and come back." The woman answered and said to him, "I do not have a husband." Jesus answered her, "You are right in saying, I do not have a husband. For you have had five husbands, and the one you have now is not your husband. What you have said is true." John 4:16-18

Reflect today on the importance of opening your eyes to see the reality of your sins. Don't run from your past, confront it, understand it, confess it, and receive
the living water of mercy. The holier you become, the more clearly you will see
even the smallest sins you have committed. That is good. It is necessary if we
want to be healed and refreshed by God. Imitate this sinful woman today.
God is never ashamed of us. Let the shame and guilt dissipate within God's
abundant mercy so that like this woman, you will know that God knows you
through and through and loves you despite your sin.
