A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE CONFERENCE PRESIDENT
A New Call to Serve

Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds each of you well!
I am writing to share that, with mixed feelings, I have accepted a call to serve as Vice President of the Papua New Guinea Union Mission.
I say “mixed feelings” because I have thoroughly enjoyed serving here in NAC. We have a special team, and as I reflect on the past three years, I can clearly see God’s leading. I have been blessed to watch the Good News Conference continue to produce good news stories!
At the same time, through prayer, it has become clear to my family and I that God is calling us to a new place of service. We are excited to follow His leading. As we move to the Land of the Unexpected, we look forward to encountering the God who does unexpected things!
I will continue serving in NAC until the end of November. December will be a time of pre-embarkation and annual leave, before I commence work in PNG in January 2027.
The Northern Australia Conference Appointments Committee will shortly meet to elect a new Conference President. As I reflect on this transition, I am encouraged by these words Ellen White wrote in the context of evangelism:
“One man may carry his part of the work as far as he can, and then the Lord will send another of His workmen to do another part of the work that the first worker did not feel the necessity of doing, and yet it was essential that the work should be done. Therefore let no man feel that it is his duty to begin and carry forward a work entirely himself.”

The apostle Paul expressed a similar thought in 1 Corinthians 3:6–7: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”
Ellen White's quote and this passage remind us that God is the One leading His work. He uses one person for a season, then calls another with different gifts to build on what has been done. Through each person’s contribution, He continues to lead His church forward as we draw closer to Christ’s return.
Isn’t our God faithful! How reassuring to remember that His church rests in His hands. As the well-known song reminds us, Jesus is the centre of it all!
Please join me in praying for God’s leading as a new President is elected for the Northern Australia Conference.
For now, there is still work to do! I have appointments to visit a number of churches, and the office team and I are working through some key administrative matters to help give NAC a strong start to 2027.
Over these coming weeks, I look forward to seeing many of you, spending time together, and saying farewell — for now.
Thank you for the privilege of serving alongside you in God’s work here in Northern Australia. May each of us continue to share the Good News of Jesus - where He has placed us - until He comes.
