On 17 May 16, we had a great honour of witnessing our local politicians and community leaders availing themselves to support the initiative of bringing awareness about domestic violence and misogynistic attitudes which affect families and the community. Her Honourable Fiona Richardson; Minister of Women and Prevention of Family Violence spoke proudly of how our state is taking the lead as a strategic model in changing attitudes in the pursuit to combat domestic violence which affects our community. Member of Parliament Ben Carroll was the moderator for the day. We were also very privileged to have the presence of our Mayor Coroner Andrea Surace, Rev Jean Beale and Father Joseph and members of the community. We are a blessed community to have leaders who are conscious of the issues which affect people and are in the joint endeavour to support and concoct ways to deal with them.
