Our dedicated volunteers continue to offer services to people in need, and Salvos employees are also given volunteering opportunities at both individual and team levels 🤝
Sarah, who works at our Melbourne headquarters, volunteered at the Asylum Seeker and Refugee Service in Brunswick, Victoria. The team supports those in the local community who require assistance with food, clothing, living expenses and employment advice.
Sarah was keen to support the centre as she was aware of the challenges refugees and asylum seekers face. “I gained more of an understanding about the different stages someone seeking asylum in Australia goes through,” she shared.
“There was something that moved me every day. Talking to the workers and seeing the care and compassion they give, showed me how much love they have,” she added ❤️
