Buddhist Society of South Australia

Buddhist Society of South Australia Buddhist Society of South Australia The Buddhist Society of SA brings teachers to Adelaide from the Thai Forest tradition of Ajahn Chah.

This noble tradition carries on the way of life of the monks and nuns in the time of the Buddha; a simple life of meditation in seclusion, their only possession a bowl for alms food. The depth and purity achieved by these monks echoes truly the metaphor of a lotus emerging from muddy waters.

Thank You Ajahn In for establishing a place in South Australia and for your teachings. 🙏🙏🙏

"Let's investigate only within this body of ours.

There's no need to focus on others.

Most of the time the mind is sent out to find fault with other people.

Let's teach our heart to submit to the purpose and teachings of Dhamma.

The function of this fabricated body is only to grow old, suffer, and then die.

During the period of time before we die,

let's contemplate frequently:

'What am I doing right now?

Does the heart have merit and goodness— or not?'*

~ Luang Pu Thong-In Katapuñño

* Merit and goodness include generosity, virtue, and universal goodwill, along with other good qualities of the mind that are developed from meditation.

Venerable Sir, may you forgive us for any wrong we have done you out of heedlessness in thought, word, or deed.
