Wonderful to spend the evening with Bishop Jack Urame from the ELC-PNG and other PNG Church leaders who are being hosted by DFAT in Canberra this week. A great night full of great conversation.

"Be devoted to one another in love... Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practise hospitality." Romans 12:10-13
These words are a picture of what a transformed life in Christ looks like. When God's mercy fills our hearts, it naturally overflows in love, generosity, and care for others.

By giving so generously, the St Peter's Lutheran Church, Greenock children, families, and leaders of J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) have put that love into action, blessing the work of LCA International Mission with a very special donation.

We thank God for their generosity and pray that, as they continue to grow in faith, they will joyfully take up their cross and follow him in lives of love and service for others.

Please remember those in Nan Thailand and also in Myanmar who are affected by flooding. As the Church responds in both countries may people come to know Jesus who is with us in every trial we face.

Representatives from our partner churches in Malaysia and Singapore gathered in Kuala Lumpur for a two-day archives workshop, led by Angela Schilling, Collections Archivist, Lutheran Archives.
The workshop explored why preserving church records, photographs, histories and documents is important, not only for remembering the past, but for strengthening identity, faith and mission for future generations.
Participants shared stories from their own churches, discussed the challenges of preserving historical materials, and considered practical steps towards developing and strengthening archival collections within their contexts.

We're grateful to our partners the Basel Christian Church of Malaysia and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malaysia who welcomed the Tatachilla Lutheran College students so warmly and helped make this inaugural Malaysia service-learning experience possible.
We pray these experiences with the Dream Centre, Bethany Home, Hope Place, SJK (C) Lok Yuk Likas, social enterprises and local communities, continue to shape the students' understanding of service, compassion and their place in God's world.

Please pray for the Lutheran Church in Cambodia as they meet in these days for their Annual General meeting under the theme “Walking Together in God’s mission and service”

Pastor Mark preached at the opening service on their Theme Verse Isaiah 6:8
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And whom will go for us?’
And I said, ‘Here am I! Send me!’

A real joy to hear stories of God’s faithfulness at work in the midst of a time of great uncertainty and anxiety as a nation.

Joining with our brothers and sisters in Christ in celebrating 140 years from mission to church and 50 years since the Declaration of Autonomy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea. https://lcamission.org.au/2026/07/18/liberated-by-christ-stand-firm-be-fruitful/
From the arrival of Johannes Flierl at Simbang in 1886, through the witness of Papua New Guinean evangelists, pastors, teachers, lay leaders, congregations, and church workers across generations, God has grown and strengthened his Church across Papua New Guinea. We give thanks for the enduring partnership between Lutherans in Papua New Guinea, Australia, and New Zealand. We rejoice in all that God has done through the ELCPNG and pray for his continued blessing as the church lives out its anniversary theme:
“Liberated by Christ. Stand Firm. Be Fruitful.” (Galatians 5:1; John 15:16)

May this story of God's faithfulness encourage us all as we continue to share the hope of Christ in our communities and across the world.

We’ve recently welcomed Robyn Whitefern home after her time volunteering at the Protestant Church in Sabah (PCS) Luther Seminary. During her time there, Robyn worked in the seminary library unpacking books, relabeling shelves, cleaning, and even painting. Alongside the practical tasks, Robyn ascertained and then provided a report about what is required for the library to go online.
Read more about Robyn's experience here: https://lcamission.org.au/2026/06/07/more-than-a-library/
At PCS Luther Seminary, students come from across the region, eager to learn, grow in their faith, and be equipped for ministry in their communities.
We're now prayerfully seeking another volunteer who can serve alongside Robyn at PCS Luther Seminary, ideally with library experience. Could this be you, or someone you know? If so, please contact us.
