Please pray for Kobe and Brenton Albances from the NSW District who are on their way to Chicago USA for orientation as camp counsellors. Over the next three months Kobe will be serving as part of the ELCA’s International Camp Counsellor program at Christikon Camp in Montana and Brenton at Rainbow Trail Lutheran camp in Colorado.

Kobe and Brenton were commissioned at LifeWay Lutheran Church on Mother’s Day by Assistant to the Bishop International Mission Pastor Mark Schultz and local Pastor Nich Kitchen.

Kobe and Brenton are very excited by this opportunity to meet other Christians, grow in their faith and share their love of Jesus with others.

If any other young people are interested in serving in this way, please email [email protected] and we will let you know when the next round of applications open.

The journey of mission is always an adventure! LCA International Mission wants to help you step into that adventure yourself!

We give thanks for the relationship between SMA YP HKBP 1 Pematangsiantar and Unity College, South Australia, as Ms Vika Sinaga, Mr Hunter Manurung, Winda Ezeria Nababan, and Joachim Ariando Sirait begin their time in Australia alongside students and staff from Unity College.
Please pray for this visit, that God will keep students and staff safe as they travel and settle into a new environment, and that as they step into unfamiliar classrooms, conversations, and homes, they will be open to learning from one another. Pray for honesty and respect in relationships as differences are encountered, for patience as understanding grows, and for joy in the small, everyday interactions that shape this time, so that it leaves a lasting impact on both school communities.

We give thanks for the recent service of Michael and Debbie Borgas, and Lee and Grace Cook, who volunteered their time alongside the Bibelvrouw community in Indonesia.
During their service at Bibelvrouw, they walked in partnership with students and staff by teaching conversational English and sharing daily life shaped by worship, study, music, and strong communal rhythms, encouraging confidence, connection, and mutual learning.
We also give thanks for the leadership and students of Bibelvrouw, and for all who supported their service through prayer.

Blessed to worship at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Khlong Toei, Bangkok yesterday. It has been 11 years since I was last here with a Mission Team who painted the Noah’s Ark theme on the outside wall. Thanks Rev Chanda Saiyotha for the welcome! The music was led by those in the Music for Life program that the Church runs to help those who have grown up in the slums to have new possibilities for their future. My interpreter Kaow’s story is truly inspiring (will share more later) as is Praew’s the young lady who led the singing, who is beginning her second year scholarship at the equivalent of the Music Conservatorium here in Bangkok! If you know of anyone who would like to volunteer to teach violin or cello to these young people for a 2 month period, please contact LCA International Mission!

The Hahndorf Town Band recently presented their annual Hymns and Classics concert. Donations received during the afternoon were directed to support early childhood education in Papua New Guinea. The Heldsbach Kindergarten Project began in 2008 with support from St Paul’s Lutheran Parish, Hahndorf, and continues through committed local leadership and a long standing partnership between communities.Read more about the history of St Paul's involvement here: https://lcamission.org.au/2020/04/07/god-had-other-plans/ The financial contributions help provide teacher training, learning resources, and safe, nurturing learning environments for young children in the Heldsbach district.

Everything that can be shaken has been shaken so that what cannot be shaken remains!
That’s the resounding truth the risen Christ proclaims.
Death couldn’t stop him.
Hell couldn’t hold him.
The grave couldn’t contain him.
This Easter, may you celebrate and hold onto this
unshakeable hope,
everlasting love,
and eternal victory…for you.
Christ is risen. He is risen indeed!
