Some of us are firm in the

experience of God and some of us still seeking, but we all know that here we will hear the Word of God and find lifelong friendship and an unconditional welcome. We are a modern congregation with a solid link to Adelaide’s Anglican past, and a passionate belief in the work of God in the present. Our church has a rich tradition in music and the arts. We also have a vibrant children's program supporting a growing community of young families. and open to it's needs. Our parish incorporates the St. Oswald Centre for Spirituality. Just go to the 'spirituality' tab at the top to find out more. Our Parish Centre is home to many community groups and bookings are welcome. We know that God changes us when we listen. We know that living the Christian life is both simple and hard; for “…what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” We are on a journey to do that – and we welcome all who would like to join us.

"Above all, we must put people - our common, glorious humanity - ahead of profit, convenience or technological progress at all costs."

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally, has led a debate in the House of Lords on the human impact of Artificial Intelligence.

Archbishop Sarah described AI as a ‘remarkable product of human creativity’, but warned that it also raises urgent questions about human relationships, the future of work, democracy, truth and the protection of human dignity.

In her speech, she said:

‘Technology this revolutionary must not simply be unleashed on our societies: it must be developed with us and for us - at a human pace, with human objectives.

‘Above all, we must put people - our common, glorious humanity - ahead of profit, convenience or technological progress at all costs.’

The debate follows wider Christian reflection on AI, including Pope Leo XIV’s recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. AI is also one of the major themes being explored by the Anglican Communion Science Commission, as it seeks to equip Anglicans for thoughtful and courageous leadership in science.

Today is a chance to pause, wonder and commit anew to that "one great reciprocal circle of a common creation."

Happy World Environment Day!

This morning we woke to a bright sky and the world about us is "proclaiming the glory of God" (Ps 18)! May this beauty we behold break us open to hear the cry of our land and sky, rivers and seas and every living creature great and small, asking us for help...not only to live...but more importantly, to thrive! I love this vision of creation by Joan Chittester:

"Only when we see ourselves, humans, as part of creation, rather than as the crown of creation, will we ever be able to come anywhere close to really grasping the greatness of God and God’s gifts to us. Only then will we begin to see the glowing face of God everywhere. Only then will we begin to understand that we are all meant to come to fullness of life together—plants, animals, planet, and humans in one great reciprocal circle of a common creation."
~ Joan Chittester osb

This year's theme focuses on climate change - on the urgent signals the earth is sending us and the signals we choose to send back. Recently, with so many other problems and difficulties facing us all, the call for climate action has become less urgent. Today is a chance to pause, wonder and commit anew to that "one great reciprocal circle of a common creation."

re. joint open letter on global hunger

"Hunger amid abundance is a moral failure." Three of the world's largest faith-based organisations — the World Council of Churches (WCC), Caritas Internationalis, and World Vision International — have spoken with one voice for the first time, cosigning a joint open letter on global hunger.

318 million people are facing crisis-level hunger in 2026. The letter calls on governments to protect humanitarian access, safeguard child nutrition programmes, and prioritise peacebuilding over militarisation.

Join us on 9 June — a 90-minute webinar marking World Hunger Day, titled "Give your loaves and fish."
