The Prophetic continued.
I believe we are living in times where the prophetic word is Desperately needed. The Rhema word
In times of difficulty is what sustains us the logos word just doesn’t cut it.
What God has said in the past is one thing, it Gives us good principles that we can apply in our lives however in times of difficulty, we need to know what God is saying now.
Hosea: 12. V 13 says
‘The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt’
(From the land of bo***ge and heavy Unrighteous burdens)
and by a prophet he cared for them,
(ie he sustained/fed them)
Testimony.
I remember many years ago when my wife and I emigrated from the UK to Australia.
We had come from a church, where all the five fold ministries were being used, we were encouraged to move in the spirit and given room to do so.
Before we come to Australia, we were encouraged by an apostle to get in touch with a couple of people that he knew and were overseeing a large church. The goal was to connect with people and put into practice all that we learnt in our 15+ years from a fellowship We went to in the UK and start something fresh from the ground up.
We visited several churches just to get a feel of what the Lord was doing, and realised that most churches were pastor led, very controlled And from our perspective, were built on business principles.
You were either on board with in helping to bring into being one mans vision, and thereby becoming a commodity, And if you was not following that man’s vision by definition your were a rebel and your personal destiny was not taken into account.
Then the Lord spoke to us, and he said very clearly I want you to get out of the structure and follow the cloud we were so used to being in a very healthy church with healthy excellent oversight.
After this word, my wife and I spiritually was in the desert for a few years and floundering not realising what the Lord was doing so we moved to New Zealand and it was there that we got hold of some videos by a man called
Graham Cooke who’s prophetic course I was on in the UK for 18 months, so it was familiar. And the whole emphasis was so much on gifting but character. And we realised that all that we’ve been taught previously that we needed character to carry it, and follow it through, and for us, being in that desert and living daily on that Rhema word, was when that happened.
It released us.
The Lord worked in us what he wanted to release through us and that at times was painfull.
In the prophetic, it is not so much that you carry message but that you are the message. In order to effective and move in prophecy you have to be credible as a person.
The church needs to know how the different gifts work and how they interact to holt any confusion and Unnecessary fiction that may arise because of misunderstanding.
For instance a teacher gives understanding of God’s principles for growth and service. While the prophetic imports purpose in our current events?
A teacher shows us the mind while the prophetic shows just the heart.
Prophets move by revelation,
A teacher by understanding,
A prophet says what God is saying,
A teacher what God has said,
A prophet reveals the rhema word,
A teacher principles for establishing that word,
The prophet inspires the spirit and addresses issues of the heart,
The teacher explains things to the mind.
The teacher is not there to balance the prophetic, but to help interpret it into everyday life.
There is no movement without tension that is a physiological fact And prophecy is attacking, stimulating, provoking, and brings conviction, that produces expressionthe attacking is in the spiritual, the expression is in the natural.
One of the things I was told about the prophetic is the difference between moving in prophecy and being a prophet is about 20 years, if you are going through hardship and misunderstanding that is all part of the package and normal and there is a gap between the actual and the ideal. And that is often where tension is experienced, this is normal and where our spiritual muscles are developed.
