This Sunday, we'll be celebrating Pentecost Sunday, which is 50 days after Resurrection Sunday, and when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and followers of Jesus in the early church (as read in Acts 2). We celebrate and remember this event as a beautiful reminder that the Gospel is for all people from all over the world!

We invite you to join us at 9am or 11am with one of our Mission Partners joining us and sharing a sermon.

The 11am service will be followed by a potluck lunch, so come along and bring a dish to share, perhaps one from your culture or heritage. RSVP via cityreachwest.church/events

Last Friday night and Saturday, more than 100 women from CityReach West and Crosspoint churches gathered together to seek God’s wisdom. Looking at Proverbs 1-3, we discussed, were taught, prayed through, and conversed about the wisdom of God: Jesus Christ.

Through testimonies, panels, talks, and workshops, we were reminded that wisdom is not making the ‘right decision’. Wisdom is not making ‘good choices’. Wisdom is Jesus.

As God’s women, we seek to be wise and understanding, and this means seeking the face of Jesus as our number one priority in life. Jesus tells a busy and frantic Martha: “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42). We were reminded that one thing is necessary: sitting at Jesus feet, beholding him, listening to him, learning from him. This is the way of wisdom. Not so we can get good things from Jesus. Not so we can avoid mistakes. Not so that we know the ‘right thing’ to do. But so that we may delight in his goodness and beauty and be utterly satisfied in him.

We also learned that wisdom is not ‘good advice’, but meekness (James 3). And if we are to choose the path of wisdom as outlined in Proverbs, we will grow in the wisdom and meekness of Jesus. For he is gentle and humble, and invites us to come to him and learn from him.

We're so thankful for the gift of gathering, growing, and seeking Him together. And to the men who helped and served us over the weekend – THANK YOU!

Praise God for the launch service of our church plant, Crosspoint Church, last Sunday! They had almost 60 adults in attendance – some to show support, some to check out a church service for the first time, and some to continue discovering Jesus!

Please continue to pray for Ben, Kat and the Crosspoint team, for continued favour with Valley View Secondary School, for God to be glorified and for people to come to know Jesus.

Our 2026 Women's Conference, Seeking Wisdom, is under TWO weeks away, and regos close THIS Sunday!

Across the Friday night and Saturday, we will share around food, multiple panel discussions, interactive learning, and testimonies to seek wisdom from God, and through one another, across multiple generations.

Women of West and Crosspoint Church, you're invited to join us at conference so that we can seek His wisdom together – for the good of each other, Christ's church, and God's glory.

You're invited to join us this Christmas Eve as we reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ – what it meant then, and what it means for us now.

There will be two services at 5pm and 6:30pm, where we will sing carols, hear a short message, and have a talk for the kids.

There will also be barista coffee and hot chocolate available, with all proceeds being donated to Teen Challenge SA.

What an encouragement it was to hear the testimonies of Maddie and Andrew in the 9am service, and Nate, Caleb and Meg in the 11am service on Sunday, and to witness their public declaration of faith through baptism!

We pray that they would continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
