The Notice of Sakyamuni Bodhisattva's Birthday Celebration and Vesak Dharma Assembly
Every year, the full moon day of the fifteenth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar is Vesak Day, also known as the Buddha's Auspicious Day. It is stipulated by the United Nations that Buddhists celebrate the birth, enlightenment, and Nirvana of Sakyamuni Buddha. Buddhists will bathe the Buddha with a pure and pious heart on that day, and follow the teachings and steps of the Buddha, purify their hearts, and cultivate concentration through precepts, meditation, and grow together in the Dharma, from light to light.
The SA Zhulin Buddhist Association Inc. will commence the celebration ceremony at 9:00 am on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
We sincerely invite all devotees to come to the celebration and to tell each other of the celebration. Together we enjoy the grace of the Dharma and the Joy of the Dharma and form good relationships!
Activities on Vesak Day are as follows:
1. The annual "Buddha Bathing on Vesak Day" Dharma Assembly starts at 9:00 a.m. Through the merit of bathing the Buddha, we can cleanse the impurity from our body, mouth, and thoughts, pray for the Buddha’s blessing; eliminate the bad karma, and bless the whole family with good luck and peace, and pray that all sentient beings can open the Buddha's wisdom; stay away from dust and dirt, and attain the supreme Bodhi together.
2. The annual food fair sale of Asian flavors of vegetarian food and the proceeds from the charity sale will be used as development and expansion fund.
3. International Day of Families, ceremonies of gratitude and thanksgiving to parents. During the ceremony, we will thank the Abbot and the Venerable for their compassion and teaching, we present the flowers to the Abbot and Venerable and the children will present the flowers to their parents. The children will also present cards and words of gratitude to their parents. Wishing the elders all the best, good health, and Longevity!
