The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is situated in the Southeast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordering Oman and Saudi Arabia. In December 1971, the UAE became a federation of six emirates - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, and Fujairah, while the seventh emirate, Ras Al Khaimah, joined the federation in 1972. total world supply of oil reserves and the world's fifth largest natural gas reserves. As a mainstay to the economy, oil exports now account for about 30 percent of total UAE gross domestic product. The ranking is based on five country attributes being a leader, economically influential, politically influential, strong international alliances and strong military. UAE has ranked first in the Middle East and ninth globally in the US News Best Countries rankings.
