The Lord is my covering in the day of battle.
Mapisarema 140:7–8
“Mwari Ishe, ndimi simba rokuponeswa kwangu, Makafukidza musoro wangu pazuva rokurwa. Jehovha, regai kupa wakaipa zvaanotsvaka; Musapfuudza zano rake rakaipa; kuti varege kuzvikudza.”
David understood something powerful, the presence of a battle does not mean the absence of God. He said, “You covered my head in the day of battle.” God did not promise David that there would never be a battle; He promised to cover him in the midst of it.
There are battles we see, and there are battles we know nothing about. There are conversations where our names are mentioned without our knowledge, decisions being made in rooms we are not in, and plans being formed that we may never hear about. But our confidence is that God sees what we cannot see.
That is why David in verse 8 says: “Do not grant the wicked their desires; do not let their plans succeed.”
Child of God, not every plan formed against you has permission to prosper. People may plan, but God has the final say. The enemy may devise, but God determines what is permitted to stand.
Today, let this be your prayer:
*O Lord, do not allow any wicked plan or device formed against my life to prosper. Whatever has been designed to bring me down, to frustrate my progress, disturb my family, attack my purpose or derail my destiny Father, let it fail.*
