We live in a world where everyone seems to expect others to do everything for them. Children expect their parents to handle everything. Parents look to their children for the same. Brothers want their sisters to do everything for them, and sisters expect their brothers to take care of everything. Employees expect their employers to do everything, while employers expect the same from their employees. Church members want pastors and reverend fathers to take care of everything, and in turn, pastors and reverend fathers expect the congregation to do everything for them. The list goes on—wives expect everything from their husbands, and husbands expect everything from their wives.
This mindset needs to change. Stop expecting others to do everything for you! Only God can do everything for you—not your spouse, not your parents, not your family members, and not your leaders. Learn to appreciate what others do for you and move on. If someone does A and B for you but can't do C and D, be grateful for A and B and move forward. God will bring others who can help with C and D.
That boss you're complaining about because they didn't do this or that—remember, they gave you a job. Appreciate them for that and move on. That wife you’re complaining about because she's gained weight or looks older—remember, she gave birth to your children. That friend you feel let down by because they weren't there at this moment—remember, they were there for you when you needed them before. The brother, sister, or uncle you're upset with for not helping now—think about the times they did support you. That dad or mom you’re complaining about for not doing enough—remember, they gave you life and a basic education.
Please learn to appreciate people for the little or much they have done for you and move on. Ingratitude has become too common in this world, where people focus on what wasn’t done and forget the good that was. It’s truly a sad reality. Let’s change this by learning to appreciate others and moving forward. No one can do everything for you.
