IS IT OKAY TO HATE THEM?

"There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me but evil..." (1 Kings 22:8).

Today I come with the same question I asked in Shona on 30 April 2020. I thought either the Shona language was the limiting factor or the question was too direct. I very much wish to believe that Christians do not hate but love. However, when love is not evident or is exclusive, then hate has its presence.

There are Christians who love God whole heartedly and are so much committed in serving Him. Yet, they do have serious hate issues. They are not in talking terms with family members, neighbours and fellow Christians. To some they simply "do not see eye to eye" which make it sound like an issue of perception. With others they just can't "agree on anything." They are obviously on opposite ends always and see each other as opponents instead brothers and sisters. None would profess "hatred" for each other, neither do they confess "love" without a "but" added. As Ahab stated above, "He is the right person for the job, " but" I HATE him." Why did he hate him? "...because he does not say any good concerning me but evil."

So let's discuss this matter. Are we supposed to love only those who praise and commend us, and hate those who oppose and criticize us? Are we justified to hate those who do not walk with us and side with us? What are our reasons if any, for hating them or not loving them? Let us discuss

"Mumwe murume uchiriko, Mikaya mwanakomana waImira, watingabvunza kids kwaJehovha naye, asi ini NDINOMUVENGA, nokuti haaporofiti zvakanaka pamusoro pangu, asi zvakaipa..." (1 Madzimambo 22:8).

Kwaziso kwamuri vana baba naanamai, vakomana nevasikana muzita raIshe wedu Jesu Kristu. Nhasi ndine nyaya isiri mharidzo kana chidzidzo. Inyaya yandinokumbira kuti tose tikurukure pamwechete muno tiri mudzimba dzedu. Vavariro yangu nomunamato wangu ndowekuti patinopedza, tinge tiine zvatadzidza pamwechete.

Pane munhu kana vanhu vatisingataure zvakanaka pamusoro pavo, vatinoti tikavaona mwoyo yedu inosviba. Vamwe vacho hatitotaudzani navo kana kukwazisana. Kana taibvunzwa, mhinduro yedu hayaidudza kuti, "NDINOMUVENGA!" Asi inini ndomapinduriro andinoda kuti tikurukure tichipindura mubvunzo wokuti, KO UNOMUVENGEREI?

INI ndinoda kupa zvikonzero zvitatu zvandomuvengera. Iwewewo IPA zvako zvikinzero. Kana tapa zvikinzero zvedu tichazobvunzana mimwe mibvunzo tichikurukura nokudzidza. Tisamhanyire zvedu kuBhaibheri, tichasvikako gare gare. Ngatioindurei mubvunzo chete. Inini:
1) Haatauri zvakanaka nezvangu
2) Anotaurisa uye ane makuhwa
3) Anopesana nepfungwa dzangu (opposes my ideas)

Pandima 7 anoti, "Zvino rugare rwaMwari, runopfuura kunzwisisa kwose, rucharinda moyo yenyu, nemifungo yenyu muna Kristy Jesu" chokwadi mifungo yedu yakatapwa kare ikazadzwa nokutya nokufunganya. Takamanikidzwa kutaura mutauro usiri mutauro wedu, kugara magariro asiriwo magariro edu nokuimba nziyo dzisiridzo nziyo dzedu. Vanhu kana kunzvirana havasisina. Murivo woduriswa nokuda kwe corona. Sugar nemafuta zvose hazvichatangike nokuda kweCorona. Chandoziva ndechokuti, "Kudenga kuna Mwari!" Kwaari ndokandichasimudzira meso angu netariro yangu. Iye oga ndiye achave rwiyo rwangu nedombo rangu. Kereke yaKristu yasvika pakumanikidzika nokuomerwa. Ko rwakaendepiko Ruvimbo rwedu rwataiimba nezvarwo nezuro.

Ko zvataukuswerera kutaura zveCOVID-19 kutumwa kwedu kwakazodini? Madzimai nezuro Havana kusangana, havasi kuzosangana kwemamwe mavhiki maviri, iiiiiiii ndinotya zvangu! Vans baba. "Endai naizvozvo..." haichatauriki. Nziyo dzedu dzashaiswa chirevo. Ko Mwari wedu uripi?

Ummmmm inini zvangu ndaneta nokuimba rwiyo rwandisingazivi. Ndichasimudzira meso angu muna Mwari wandinoziva. Ndiye wandakaona achidzikinura vanhu kuburikudza naKristu Jesu. Ndiye wandakaona achipiresa marwere evanhu. Ndiye Mwari wandakaona achipindura minyengetero yevanhu vake. Aewa! Uyu Mwari haasi muduku ask mukuru. Ndiye akapatsanura gungwa vanhu vakafamba pakaoma. Ndiye Mwari akavimbisa kupodza nyika kana vanhu vake vakatendeuka panzira dzavo dzakaipa, vakanyengetera nokutsvaga chiso chake. Ndiye Mwari wandinokurudzira hama dzangu kuti titarise kwaari. Imbosiyanai nenyaya dzamunosweerera dzechikara chamusingazive ruvara rwacho. Ngatitarisei kuna Mwari watinoziva, timurumbidze iye nokuchema kwaari. Ngatipupurei hukuru hwaMwari, kukwana kwaiye wokumusorosoro asina kana rimwe simba riri pamusoro perake.

Ukateerera radio kana television, unongonzwa nyaya imwechete. Kunyange nerwiyo rwavepo rwunodzokororwa ruchadzokororwazve! Nyaya inongove imwe chete, Corona virus! Garai mumba! Gezai maoko zvichingodaro. Nziyo dzedu dzeku Church hapaa paunodzinzwa. Minyengetero neuchapupu zvose hapana paunozvizwa. Izvi zvose zvakanyaradzwa zvikayorera dariro nechikara chinotyisa chinoparadza, Corona virus! Aewa, inini ndaneta nokunzwa rwiyo urwu!

Zvinondibatsirei kunzwa nyaya inotyisa, inochemedza nokukuvharira mazuva ose. Zuva roga roga mufaro unongomuka wakashomeka. Hakuna hama dzinoshanyirana. Hapana vanoenda kuminamato, choir practice nezvose zvinechekuita nokurumbidza Mwari. MuRadio hapana mashoko anokurudzira kunamata Mwari. Mapepa nhau akangozara nenyaya dzimwe chete. Zvese izvi zvinonetesa mweya.

Vakanga vakadzipfeka vaidududza wani mazuva makumi mana. Davidi akamira nezita raJehovha waaiziva. Ndiye akamurwira kushumba nemapere. Ndiye anorwira padenda rinouraya uye nomuseve unobururuka.

Davidi paanoti, "Ndichasimudzira meso angu kunaJehovha, musiki wedenga nenyika" anoziva Mwari waari kureva. Ndiye Mwari Latino lurid idea naPauro muna vaFiripi 4:6 kuti tisafunganya pamusoro pechimwe chinhu, ask timuzivise neminyengetero, mikumbiro nokuvonga.

I Will Look Up to God Who is Bigger

My fellow preachers! We have been pushed to the compromising, dangerous corner by this unknown giant. We have been made to sing a foreign song and have abandoned our old song, “My Hope is built on nothing else” but Christ the Rock! It goes on to say, “All other ground, is sinking sand…” In that sand we are now standing. In that sand is our song. O I choose to look up to God who is Bigger! I choose to go back to the God of the Beginning before there was a beginning. I choose to go back to the God I have known and preached about His faithfulness for 38 years. The one I have declared as the Sufficient One! Yes, the One I have witnessed as the Saviour and Deliverer! I am going back to the one who promised, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” I have known him to be the one “who watches over His Word to perform it.” O, yes! He has promised, “Lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20).

No! I am not changing my song. I cannot sing a strange song with an unknown tune! He is my Story and He is My Song! The strange song has no notes, no definition except bad news! But I stand to announce that the blood of our Lord Jesus, the one who died that we may live is the blood “that speaks better things than the blood of Abel” (Hebrews 12:24). Yes, “I will cling to the old rugged cross” and declare His presence in the midst of our storm. I will not tell about the storm but about the one who silences the tempestuous storm. I will not sing about the trouble we are in but about the one who is “…a very present help in times of trouble” (Psalm 46:1). May I urge you fellow Christians, let us look up to God who is Bigger! Let us look “unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:2). At a time such as this, there is someone out there who needs good news. There’s been too much bad news. Let us turn to Him who is Bigger and is the answer. Be bless and focused.
