Title : WISDOM
1 Corinthians 2:5-8 KJV
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. [6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: [7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
- Let's start by defining the word Wisdom.
- After that we shall classify it and establish it as coming from two sources only;
the wisdom from above - (the Wisdom of God) and
the wisdom of man - (the earthly wisdom).
- The definitions below have been extracted from other sources without editing and they make sense for the purposes of this devotion.
Wisdom could be defined as;
1. "the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement; or the quality of being wise."
2. "the fact of being based on sensible or wise thinking."
3. "the body of knowledge and experience that develops within a specified society or period."
~ These are some of the definitions of wisdom of man, the earthly wisdom. ~ However,the third one seems to indicate that it is like a fashion, where it involves issues of particular time period.
-It also shows that it is people or society specific.
~ Every society has its wisdom.
Below are the definitions of the Wisdom from above, the Wisdom of God;
~ "Biblical wisdom invites people to a way of life that is in harmony with both the created order and God's redemptive work.
~ In the Old Testament ,wisdom is oriented around the fear of the Lord whereas in the New Testament wisdom is amplified and reoriented around Jesus Christ."
- The wisdom from above has got a bearing on both issues of this world (the created order) and the things from above (the redemptive work of God).
- It is founded also on the fear of the Lord in the Old Testament (The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom).
- The New Testament establishes it on Jesus Christ.
- It settles that Christ Himself is the Wisdom that is in God.(1Cor 1v24)
~ Wisdom has these two locations even though many people could classify it in several classes and forms. Either it is from above or earthly.
- Wisdom from above is not limited to society and is not also fashionable. It touches the human being BOTH as a resident of this world and also the redemptive work of God.
- The earthly wisdom has boundaries (specific society and period).
PRAYER
- May God amplify your wisdom and stretch it from the limitations of society and time; that within the fullness of Christ in you it speaks the Christ in you.
- We declare all of us as Royal Priesthood family to be filled with the manifest wisdom from God whereever we are in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.Amen n Amen

[9]But you are a chosen race, a *Royal Priesthood*, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Exod. 19:5, 6.]
[10]Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God's people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy. [Hos. 2:23.]
