**John 7:38**

> *"Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."* — NIV

**What it means:**

This was Jesus speaking during the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem. It was a big festival where priests would pour water to remember how God gave water in the desert.

Jesus was basically saying:
1. **"Rivers of living water" = The Holy Spirit**
In verse 39 it explains: *“By this he meant the Spirit”*. The Spirit is what gives life, refreshes, and keeps flowing — not just a one-time drink.

2. **It starts from within**
It’s not about going somewhere to get water. If you believe in Him, the Spirit lives in you and overflows to other people too. Like rivers, not just a cup.

3. **It’s connected to Scripture**
*“as Scripture has said”* — Jesus was pointing to promises in the Old Testament like Isaiah 12:3, Ezekiel 47, Zechariah 14 about God’s Spirit being poured out.

**In short:**
Believing in Jesus means you get the Holy Spirit living in you. And that life in you doesn’t stay still — it flows out and brings life to others around you.

# # # # **1. Our Foundation Verse**
**John 7:38** – *“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”*
We are a people filled by Jesus, so that His Spirit overflows through us.

# # # # **2. Our Mission**
**Taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.**
We exist to preach Christ, make disciples, and see the Spirit move beyond our walls.

# # # # **3. Our Vision**
**The world flowing with the living waters.**
We believe the Holy Spirit is meant to heal, empower, send, and serve — until homes, streets, cities, and nations are watered by Him.

# # # # **4. Our Core Values – Holistic & Spirit-Led**
1. **Spirit & Power**: We pursue the Holy Spirit and make room for healing, deliverance, and prophecy. We expect God to move.
2. **Wholeness & Healing**: We care for the whole person. Jesus restores body, soul, and spirit. No one is too broken for the river.
3. **Word & Witness**: We are grounded in Scripture and sent with the Gospel. We teach, we equip, we go. Rivers don’t stagnate.
4. **Compassion & Service**: We love our city in deed. We serve the poor, the needy, and the forgotten — because the river waters dry ground.

# # # # **5. What We’ll Look Like**
- **Altars of Encounter**: Prayer, healing, and prophetic ministry every week.
- **Homes of Discipleship**: Equipping believers to carry the river into their families and workplaces.
- **Hands of Mission**: Outreach, evangelism, and practical help in Soweto and beyond.
- **A Chapel of Christ**: Jesus at the center. The Gospel is our message, our method, and our motivation.

Some storms are not sent to stop you - they come to expose your foundation and reveal your roots.

Therefore remain anchored in the Word, for when pressure rises, you may bend but you will not break - your standing will be proven

Returning to God (Repentance and Renewal)
On a personal spiritual level, "coming back" refers to an individual's conscious decision to turn away from sin and toward God.
Repentance: The biblical meaning of repentance involves more than just an apology; it means "to return" to a life centered in God, involving a change of mind and direction (Acts 17:30).
Reconciliation: Sin creates a separation from God, and "coming back" is the process of reconciliation and restoring that union through God's grace and forgiveness made possible by Jesus' sacrifice.
Renewal: This return is often described as being "born again" or spiritually renewed, where one becomes a "new creation" in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). It is an ongoing process of growth and sanctification.
The Prodigal Son: The parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15 beautifully illustrates this, showing that God eagerly awaits and celebrates when people who were lost "come home" to Him.
