On a particular Sunday I decided to go to church but not to the usual one I used to go, then (coincidentally) I was led to this small church in my location. It was built with still sheets on the sides and a small roof since on its own was small. However that was not an issue to me. Fast forward, as is the norm with me to sit and make myself comfortable at the back of the church, I sat at the back sit with a few congregates who were just some few meters or centimeters away from my chair. The church service started with some praise and worship as is the norm with most churches, and I joined the proceedings. Suddenly I felt a bad smell coming from within I was seated. I tried to ignore the smell but it was too shouting to ignore. In this instance, I began to look around wanting to get a glimpse of were that disturbing smell was coming from.
In my search for the smelling aroma, my eyes were directed to a small plastic bag at the back of the church slightly adjacent to where we were seated. As I was staring at this plastic bag confused and disturbed, my eyes began to look at the other people who were seating close to me anticipating that they were smelling the same smell as I was but to my surprise none of them seemed disturbed or moved. In the midst of my worry, the Spirit of God started ministering to me in teaching concerning what I was smelling.
The lesson was centered on the church as a whole, denominations big and small.
I was told, do you realize that no one in this church noticed the plastic bag and it's smell except you, as bad as the smell is, no one is smelling what you are smelling.
Then I was told ,this is what is happening in most of the church denominations out there, a bad spirit will find it's way in the church, operate in that same church whilst no one will see it's influence.
The lesson was centered on being spiritually discerning in the church............
