Trusting God’s Process
Beloved, one of the hardest lessons in the Christian journey is learning to trust God’s process. We live in a world that values speed, shortcuts, and instant gratification. But God does not work on human timetables. His ways are higher than our ways, and His process is always perfect. Growth, transformation, and maturity in Christ take time, and they require trust.
Today, I want to encourage you: Trust the process God has you in. His process is not random. It is not cruel. It is not careless. It is carefully designed to shape you into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.
1. God’s Process is Perfect
The psalmist declared in Psalm 138:8: “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.” God has a purpose for your life, and He will complete it. He will not abandon you halfway through.
And Paul reminds us in Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.” Notice it doesn’t say “some things.” It says all things—the good, the bad, and even the painful.
So even when you don’t understand where you are or why you’re going through what you’re going through, you can trust that God’s process is perfect.
2. Trusting God’s Timing
One of the greatest tests of faith is waiting. Psalm 27:14 tells us: “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
And Isaiah 40:31 promises: “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.” Waiting is not wasted time—it is preparation time.
Sometimes God delays not to deny, but to develop. He waits until we are ready to carry the blessing He has for us. So trust His timing. He is never too early and never too late.
3. Embracing the Refining Process
The refining process is not easy. Malachi 3:3 paints the picture of God as a refiner, purifying His people like silver and gold. Refining involves fire. Fire is uncomfortable, but it brings purity.
Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 1:6-7 that trials test and strengthen the genuineness of our faith. The fire doesn’t destroy you—it proves you. And when you come out, you shine brighter for the glory of God.
4. Biblical Examples of God’s Process
Joseph: Sold into slavery, falsely accused, thrown into prison—yet every step was part of God’s process to position him to save nations (Genesis 37–47).
David: Anointed as king but spent years in caves, running for his life. The refining process birthed a shepherd-king after God’s own heart (Psalm 51).
Paul: Shipwrecked, beaten, imprisoned—yet through his suffering, he learned to trust God’s timing and wrote letters that still strengthen the church today (2 Corinthians 11:23-33).
Each of these lives shows us: God’s process may not be easy, but it is always purposeful.
5. Our Response
So how should we respond? Three things:
1. Surrender to God’s Process – Stop fighting what God is doing. His process is perfect. Trust Him.
2. Wait Patiently – Do not rush ahead of God. Be still and know that He is God.
3. Embrace the Refining Process – Don’t despise the trials. See them as God shaping you, purifying you, and preparing you for greater things.
In Closing
Beloved, God’s process is not meant to break you—it is meant to build you. It is not meant to destroy you—it is meant to develop you. If you can trust Him in the dark, you will see His glory in the light.
So today, let us choose to trust God’s process. Let us surrender, wait patiently, and embrace His refining work in us. Because when He is done, we will come forth like pure .
