Theme: Serving God with Passion
Pastor Makumbe emphasized that service to God is not limited to specific roles or positions but rather a way of life that encompasses every aspect of our existence. He highlighted the significance of serving with humility, grace, and a genuine heart, urging attendees to seek opportunities to serve others selflessly. In his sermon, he said, ‘The word of God calls us priests which is associated with a number of aspects like consecration, sprinkling of blood, utilizing the fire, carrying the ark and getting into the realm of divine reality”
Consecration
In his sermon, Pastor Makumbe explained how Exodus 32 depicts a significant moment in the Israelites' journey when a portion of the community fell into idolatry, worshiping a golden calf. However, amidst this disobedience, the Levite generation emerged as a shining example of setting themselves apart for the Lord. They prioritized God's glory above personal preferences, serving as a powerful reminder of the importance of remaining faithful to God's commands in a world tempted by idolatry and worldly influences. Even their garments served as a visual reminder of the priest's sacred calling and the importance of approaching God with reverence and purity.
Sprinkling of blood
The preacher taught on how the blood of Jesus holds profound significance in Christianity. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus shed His blood, providing the means for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God. As believers, we have access to the cleansing power of His blood, which brings redemption, forgiveness, and restoration, hence the privilege of direct access to God's presence through Jesus Christ.
Utilizing the fire
The preacher explained that in the Old Testament, (Exodus 30:7-8), Aaron, the high priest, received an instruction regarding the perpetual burning of incense on the altar before the Lord. This instruction symbolizes the importance of continuous prayer and devotion. As believers today, we are likewise called to maintain a consistent and fervent prayer life (Luke 18:1).
Carrying the ark
He also explained how the Old Testament priests were given the responsibility and skill to carry the Ark of the Covenant, which symbolized the presence of God among His people. The Ark represented God's dwelling place and carried great significance. As believers today, while we may not physically carry an ark, we are called to carry the presence of God in our lives through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Getting into the realm of divine reality
In conclusion of his sermon, the speaker highlighted Romans 8:19 which tells us that creation eagerly anticipates the revelation of the children of God, who reflect His image and bring positive impact to the world. Our actions, guided by God's principles, should manifest His glory.

The service concluded with a powerful call to action as intercessory prayers were offered for the congregation's passion and dedication in serving God. We prayed for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the congregation's surrender, obedience, and compassion for others as they serve.
