The Methodist Church in Zimbabwe (MCZ) Cold Comfort Community Church (4C’) was launched on the 19th May 2019.This was necessitated by the rapid growth of Cold Comfort Suburb which did not have a Methodist church in the neighbourhood
The initial plan was to set up a preaching point at Cold Comfort Primary School but last minute changes from school authorities saw the launch being held at a privat
e residence, which has since become the official place of worship and fellowship. The establishment of this community church was spearheaded and launched by Superintendent D Muzenda who is the Warren Park Circuit Superintendent under Harare West District. The overwhelming attendance on the launch, of which 53 of the 102 congregants were Cold Comfort residents from various Methodist churches resulted in the superintendent declaring Cold Comfort Community Church the 4th society of Warren Park Circuit. Within 3 weeks of launch all leadership structures were put in place which includes two stewards, two secretaries and one treasurer. All other church subcommittees’ leadership for Ruwadzano, MCU, Youths, Worship and Evangelism, Finance, Christian Social Responsibility amongst others were put in place and church bank account was opened to facilitate ease of transactions. As indicated above Cold Comfort Community Church is now a fully recognised society church of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe after successfully fulfilling the requirements of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe Standing Orders. The women, s Ruwadzano has successfully attended their first convention, with the men, s MCU following up in the first week of September
The fast approach of the Summer season is a serious cause of concern to leadership as well as congregants alike as we are operating from an open space at our temporal residence, As leadership all available avenues are being pursued with one promising site having been chosen and negotiations underway for the acquisition of the site as a permanent church stand. Daniel2 vs 20\22 (GOD IS IN CONTROL) as a community we believe the stand site is a temporary setback which Methodists from all walks of life can overcome before the onset of this summer rains. WE BELIEVE IN PARTNERING FOR RESOURCE MOBILISATION, SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE, WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIPPING
