Midlands is one of the provinces with few congregations and members of the Churches of Christ in Zimbabwe. The last 3 years has seen congregations being planted at Redcliff, Plasworth and Lot 64(now Lincoln). The next target is Shurugwi.
Shurugwi has an average population of 22000 as of the last census that was done. However, no congregation exist to this day. It is the only town in Midlands without a congregation. BVBIZ and some experienced preachers shall camp in the area from 5-15 June 2021 doing evangelism in view of a possibility of establishing a congregation. 2 students from BVBIZ will then remain in the area for the next few months nursing the new congregation.
The costs that shall be associated with this program include food,transport, fuel and accommodation. Since there are no known members in the town, we shall have to rent some rooms. The preacher's will also need to feed during this period.
The expected number of preachers shall be between 15-20.
Around $650 is needed so that the program is hosted successfully. The figure is broken down as follows;
$200 accommodation costs
$60 fuel (for logistics)
$60 Transport for preachers
$330Food
The costs cover the period that preachers are going to be stationed at Shurugwi(5-15) June and the the period that 2 preachers will remain in the area (16 June-20 October)
Manpower is available for the work but we seek financial and material resources for this and other programs to succeed.Together, we can make the church in Midlands strong. Together we can establish more congregations.
