🔥 DEALING WITH FALSE ALTARS 🔥

What a powerful Sunday in the presence of God!
Our sermon was delivered by Pastor R. Gwazy, drawing from Exodus 34:10–17, 1 Kings 18:25, Romans 12:1–2, and Hebrews 13:10.

🕊️ KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MESSAGE
An altar is a designated place of sacrifice, worship, and remembrance of significant encounters with God. It represents a spiritual platform where humanity encounters the spiritual realm.
We explored how altars can become spiritual and legal gateways, influencing individuals, families, communities, and even nations.

📖 Two Types of Altars in the Old Testament:
🔹 Godly Altars — established for worship and devotion to God.
Genesis 12:7; Judges 6:24

🔹 False/Demonic Altars — associated with idolatry, rituals, blood covenants, ancestral practices, and ungodly agreements.
Exodus 34:12–17

One powerful lesson was that altars can affect people even when they did not personally build them. God warned Israel not to participate in the practices of surrounding nations.
In 1 Kings 18, we see how Jezebel influenced Israel to turn away from Yahweh and embrace Baal worship. The altar of Baal represented a system that competed with the worship of the true God.
Just as Gideon tore down his father's altar to Baal and built an altar to the Lord, and Elijah repaired the broken altar of Yahweh, believers are called to reject every ungodly influence and restore wholehearted devotion to God.
🔥 In the New Testament, the emphasis is not on constructing physical altars, but on presenting our entire lives to God as living sacrifices.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God…”
— Romans 12:1
🙏 The service concluded with a powerful time of prayer, as we renounced every false altar and reaffirmed our commitment to the altar of God.
The message was a timely call for every believer to stand firm, obey God's Word, and be careful not to partner with false doctrines or ungodly spiritual systems.
🔥 The altar you honour matters. The covenant you embrace matters. The God you worship matters.

These brethren in pictures were able to speak for themselves how they encountered Christ.
