GREAT LEADERSHIP
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you're a great leader." - John Quincy Adams
Greatness is always an exceptional expression of good. There are good leaders, but great leaders are in Short supply.
To write a story that is sure not to end with you but also that out of studying your life, other leaders that will be even greater are born. It's like raising dead people, even when you are present no more. It takes qualities like good principles, discipline and most importantly identity.
Even though leaders are born, they are also made. Being born into royalty does not guarantee competency in leadership. If a leader is taught first to lead himself before anyone else, it makes enormous change in the way you treat those you lead. It's easy to direct other people, but self-descipline is a challenge to implement. As a leadership coach i always encourage leaders not to just lead crowds but lead themselves first. It's good to be a CEO or Director of a company, but before one is all that to others, they have to be themselves.
A great leader is one who leads their own life. At times it all just starts with being able to direct one's pair of trousers to his waist. How can he direct a company if he doesn't know how to direct his own pair of trousers to his waist? Leadership goes beyond a public figure and just a title, initially it is meant to have a person groomed from within. Without self-control, pressure overwhelms you; if you do not know your reactions towards situations, you will be shocked when you witness yourself snapping in a fit of rage. Besides recognising other people, true leadership is hidden in knowing yourself, being able to pick yourself out of a crowd with clear boundaries on.
