The Power of Forgiveness in Relationships

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13

Forgiveness is a fundamental aspect of our relationships with others.

When we choose to forgive, we are not only releasing the debt that others owe us, but we are also opening ourselves up to deeper and more meaningful relationships.

David and his brother had been estranged for years due to a painful conflict. But one day, David decided to forgive his brother and reach out to him.

They began to rebuild their relationship, and David experienced a sense of peace and freedom.

He realized that forgiveness is not just about the other person, but also about our own healing and freedom.

Additional Scriptures for Further Study:

- Ephesians 4:32 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

- Matthew 5:23-24 - "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift."

Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is a crucial part of building and maintaining healthy relationships. When we choose to forgive, we are not only obeying God's command, but we are also experiencing His grace and mercy in our own lives.

I hope this devotional encourages you to reflect on the power of forgiveness in your own relationships! Let me know if you have any other any suggestions or additions. Do let us know if God has impacted you through this message, we will definitely be happy to receive your testimony. God bless you.

Judging Others: A Reflection of Our Own Heart

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." - Luke 6:37

When we judge others, we are often reflecting our own insecurities and weaknesses. We are called to forgive and show grace to others, just as God has shown grace to us.

Rachel found herself constantly criticizing her friend's parenting style, thinking that she was doing a better job. But one day, she realized that her criticism was actually a reflection of her own fears and insecurities as a parent. She apologized to her friend and asked for forgiveness, and she began to focus on supporting and encouraging her instead of judging.

Additional Scriptures for Further Study:

- Matthew 7:1-2 - "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

- Romans 2:1-3 - "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else. For at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth."

When we choose to forgive and show grace to others, we are not only obeying God's command, but we are also reflecting the character of God and experiencing His grace and mercy in our own lives.

I hope this devotional encourages you to reflect on your own heart and attitude towards others!

The Power of Forgiveness.

"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive you." - Matthew 6:14-15

Forgiveness is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with God and with others.

When we choose to forgive, we are not only releasing the debt that others owe us, but we are also opening ourselves up to God's forgiveness and grace.

Maria had been hurt by a family member's betrayal and struggled to forgive for years. She felt justified in her anger and resentment, but she knew that God was calling her to forgive.

One day, she finally chose to release the hurt and forgive her family member.

She felt a weight lift off her shoulders and experienced a sense of peace and freedom.

She also noticed that her relationship with God deepened, and she felt His forgiveness and grace in a new way.

Additional Scriptures for Further Study:

- Mark 11:25 - "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

- Colossians 3:13 - "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is a crucial part of our spiritual journey. When we choose to forgive, we are not only obeying God's command, but we are also experiencing His grace and mercy in our own lives.

I hope this devotional encourages you to reflect on the power of forgiveness in your own life! Let me know if you have any suggestions, or areas requiring more clarity. God bless you

Isaiah 43:

1 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

TRUTH IS NOT ONLY FOUND IN Big church building with many followers. Truth can be found with a church gathering under a tree, with a handful of members.

In most cases, there is trouble in the big churches. Church politics are too much and babes in the faith are discouraged by the way churches has turned out to be about what you are wearing, what you can do, how you can sing and how connected are you with the leaders. It is for this reason why Jesus was hardly found in the synagogue because of church politics.

The Church of God is a movement and it must be able to expand and grow. Branches must be established everywhere. If 5 people from the same neighborhood travels for more than 10 kilometers to attend a church service, then there's a problem. They beleive that Jesus is only found in the church building. Jesus said:

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

A story is told, of the slave auctions in old New Orleans long ago. Two planters were bidding for an old Negro slave who kept shouting his rebellion from the auction block. Finally, one of the planters won the bid and took the slave in his wagon back to the farm.

Throughout the journey the defiant black man declared that he would not work for the new owner. When they arrived at the plantation, the planter dropped the shackles from the newly bought slave and said, “You are free to go. You are no longer a slave. I bought you in order to give you your liberty.”

According to the story, the old man fell at the feet of the planter and said, “Master, I’ll serve you forever.”

In like manner, we were all held in the bo***ge of sin, condemnation, and death. Christ then paid the price to secure our freedom from that hopeless slavery. Lovingly He tells us that the reason He made the sacrifice was to set us free. What should our response be?

Every ransomed child of God should fall at His feet and say, “Master, I love you for what you did for me. I’ll serve you the rest of my life.”

The Presence of God in a human's Life

When the spirit of God comes on a person, it creates out of them a supernatural being, an empowered and enabled being. To be effective in all we do in this life, which starts from planning, manifestation and harvesting we have to be yielded to the Spirit of God.

When the Spirit of God comes on a person there are two experiences that come into the person's life which cannot be explained by human thought;
1. God begins to dwell in them, the spirit of God cant be differentiated or separated from God, because the Holy Spirit himself is God. in this world we touch base with God by His spirit dwelling inside us. we are awakened to the presence f God by His spirit thats in us.
2. The coming of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian brings on the Christian power, the Holy Spirit is the source of power and as such when He comes into your life you are endowed with power, power is the consequence of His presence in your life.

The book of Acts 1:8 lets us know that when the Holy Spirit comes on a person it grants them power to be effective in ministry. For one to be effective in witnessing, one has to have power, that power is the ability to proclaim the word of God with signs and wonders following.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utmost part of the earth.

CREATE FOR ME A SANCTUARY

In the old testament we learn about God's desire to dwell among his creation. He asked the children of Israel to make for Him a sanctuary so He could have a direct interface with them.

A sanctuary is a consencrated place, it comprised of the most sacred part of a religious building . In the od testament the Israelites offered their various kinds of offerings and sacrifies to the Lord under the supervision of the priesthood.

God desired that fellowship with His children which was there at inception in the gadern of Eden between Himself, Adam and Eve. In our dispensation God has not choosen to be resident or confined to a physical boulding, God in His quest to enhance contact with the human race has decided to dwell in us by reson of His Spirit. The bible is clear that we are to preserve ourselves and walk worthy of the calling understanding that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost, in other words a Christian is the Sanctuary of God.

1 Corinthians 6:

19. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own.

A Christian carries the presence of God around and distributes the love and awareness of Christ in his or her environment. And the scripture above there suggests that when the Holy Spirit comes into our lives, He has centre stage and we in essence belong to Him and not the other way round.

God bless you

Philippians 3:

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Zealousness for God without knowledgeability is the reason for spiritual illiteracy and scarcity of understanding of the things of God.

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge (Romans 10:2). You must spend time to build your knowledge bank as a believer, else the devil will mislead you with ignorance.

It is not about jumping from church to church, it is your knowledge of God that will turn your life around. By the power of God, I open you up to deep Divine knowledge for a turnaround in your life and destiny. In JESUS name.
